2015 TurboTax

I've used TurboTax for over 20 years. This one was less intuitive and I had to go back and forth between step by step and topics outline. Had a lot of difficulty in creating my estimate payments. Turns out I had a $4 penalty which explained why the amount applied to next year was different than the amount overpaid in the Form 1040. I didn't discover this until printing the TurboTax instructions which highlighted the penalty.

TurboTax 2015 - Great Product

Very detailed analysis of tax return. More detailed than I really need in most cases, but the next lower level product does not have all that I need. It is better to have more detail than too little.
I would like to see a more robust way to estimate taxes for the coming year, especially when a tax situation is changing; such as entering retirement and/or beginning to withdraw RMD's.

Very Thorough

It was very thorough and fairly easy to use. I would like it if the state e-file was included in the price of the disk.

I have used TurboTax for a few years and find it very straight-forward to use. It seems to be complete, and asks me pertinent questions so that I might get the biggest refund I am entitled to. I have a rental unit, kids in college, and buy and sell investments. I think it is great for all my tax reporting needs.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, saved information from the previous year's return, complete.
What's not so great: None

Don't Download from App Store

Spent 2 hours troubleshooting why I couldn't e-file my return. Turns out turbo tax sends files to Apple and Apple doesn't update them in a timely manner so you actually have to go to the Turbo Tax web site to download the latest version or wait for Apple to update the files. What a waste of time. Just go directly to Turbo Tax

What's not so great: app store version is out of date

The step by step process is easy and quick. Making changes to your data was easy and the update calculations was fast.
