TurboTax is like hitting the Easy Button

TurboTax is great for people who want to do their taxes the easy way, The interview method of entering information is really easy for the novice or person who knows enough to be dangerous. The software helps you understand how to answer the question based on your circumstances, instead of just one pat answer.
What's great about it: Easy to use

Yet Another Year - Same Old Same Old

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years (too many to count). The user interface is good, and the calculations appear to be accurate (I hope so).
What the product lacks is help for more complex and / or esoteric things that many taxpayers may not need to complete.
For example, I purchased a home to rent to my mother-in-law and my father-in-law in 2014 (not for profit, just for peace), so I have been using Turbo Tax Premier for the past two years. While the software guides you through all of the information, the help feature is lacking sufficient detail and / or examples for amateurs like myself.
The only reason I use the software is to avoid having my tax return prepared professionally (inconvenient and expensive). Whether I use Turbo Tax or go to a professional, I have to maintain adequate records and have them available at tax preparation time. I am concerned that I am not completing the information correctly due to the lack of robust help in your software, and may be forced to use a professional going forward.
Also, the state tax portion of the software is highly uninformative. I understand it is difficult to provide robust help features for 50 different states with different rules, but you could at least try to provide some more helpful information. If you are not up to the task, then don't offer the state.

2015 Taxes

Been using this tax software for a quite of few years. Just easy to use along as you have your documentation ready. Walks you through step by step or allows you to choose your categories for tax prep. This year was the only year I'm having trouble filing as I write this its locked up on the Turbo tax web site - no message box to tell me what the problem is.
What's great about it: Easy, downloaded previous years info as a repeat user, walks you through all categories
What's not so great: going to turbo tax site for paying for e file - locked up ( still as I write this)

What's great about it: I like that you import last years return info and connect to E Trade
What's not so great: No complaints

Software is awesome... payment, not so much

Loved it all until trying to pay. I could not log in to my intuit account to save my life. Ended up just using a credit card. Way easier.

Could Have Saved Some Time

I could have saved some time if I had been given two pieces of information early in the process and there had been an optional format.
1. Mileage deduction for my business mileage. Just tell me what the $/mile is and give me a place to enter it. I don't do depreciation and expenses for my car.
2. Tell me what the Standard Deduction is going to be on the front. I can do some quick math and decide if I want to go through all the deduction inputs. I wasted a lot of time entering data just to find out I missed the Standard Deduction by a mile.
Other than that, the program is a good value.
