Stress-free tax filings

The step-by-step approach is excellent. Being able to go through the process in fits and starts was really helpful since some of the documents needed didn't appear for weeks.
The only problem I encountered was not being able to apply a portion of my refund to next year's taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Would have liked to put part of my refund against next year's taxes

Experience with my 2015 Tax Return Preparation

I have used Turbotax for many year and always had a good experience. But this year, I have a hardtime with the online software. There was a bug in the software, particularly the Smart Check, the software was frozen over and over again, and took 3 days to fix. It was a frustrating experience. It took at least 20 minutes to reflesh the page everytime I changed page. Eventually, Turbotax asked me to move to offline version instead, and transfered my return data from online to offline.
They should have compensate me this time.
What's great about it: User friendly

No problem with the process of completing my taxes - but efiling was useless. I've successfully efiled in past years through Turbo Tax, but this year the return kept getting rejected - first it couldn't recognize my spouse's identity, then it rejected mine. I finally gave up and filed by mail.
What's great about it: Walks you through each step
What's not so great: Efile wouldn't work despite three trys - ended up filing by mail.

TurboTax is well worth the money! It takes very little time to complete the forms - even if you have capital gains.
