OK but needs improving
on March 10, 2016

i use the same vehicles for several rental properties. i should be able to enter the vehicle info once but i have to repeat the same data for each property. Similarly, I gamble a lot so have a lot of tax forms from the same local casino. i should not have to enter the same name, address, etc, of the payer so many times. Inefficient issues that should be easy to eliminate with minor improvements. Finally, each year it seems i get an error because of a number the software has put on a form, but no explanation of how to fix it or what the correct number should be. This year it was supposedly excessive vehicle depreciation allowance. No idea what that should be so i just deleted it and probably overpaid tax slightly as a result. Overall this is an OK product but for the price it should be better.
What's great about it: imports prior year info, relatively simple to use
What's not so great: often inefficient and fails to explain how all errors created by the software itself can be fixed

Finally Done

Most of the steps it led me through were logical. A few small items took longer then they should have because they were new to me, such as - Was I covered with medical insurance last year? I was but it wasn't clear to me how big a deal it was to answer the question, especially after I sawt how many forms there are to cover the various situations. A couple of common examples would have been helpful. In general the process worked well.
What's great about it: It works
What's not so great: But it takes patence
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Some places just don't accept Canadian Postal codes so you have enter a US zip code just to move on.
It is still very hard to sign up for audit protection if you live in Canada
It is better than last year . I had to phone someone to get Audit protection. This year it is possible to do it online but it takes PATIENCE!
What's great about it: better than last year
What's not so great: still have to do a lot of workarounds to get it to accept all aspects of having foreign income and living in Canada
