Round and round we go

tried more than once to get ALL Fidelity downloads - all I kept getting was the dividend not the 1099R.
also - i was stuck in a loop trying to pay you for the state return - it kept saying I did not have an account. YES I DID -- finally, i had to create a new account using a junk email account i set up just for Turbo.
now I just tried to submit this and it said my nickname was taken. for crissakes - can't you cross nickname with email. ?
What's great about it: I think it got everything after I checked with last years return
What's not so great: would not download correctly from partners

Turbo Tax does a great job of walking anyone through this dreaded process with ease. You would pay an accountant far more for asking the same questions! I've been using Turbo Tax for years now, and although I still don't enjoy the process, I really don't dread it nearly as much.
What's great about it: Questions are direct, and easily clarified
What's not so great: Tax forms are redundant & cumbersome, making them very difficult to understand even when you know the information.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I had an Employee Stock options that needed to get cashed before they expired. Had a problem with double taxation. Online help had my problem listed and the correct solution (special/unusual transaction box has to be checked for the extra menus to work).
Clean interface.
What's great about it: Easy to use, online help was great
What's not so great: I still had to pay taxes

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years (I think it is at least 10 years if not more) and have found it very easy to do. Being able to transfer last year's information to my current return makes the process easy. I like the suggestions of how I can save money the next year also.
What's great about it: Easy entry and guide for preparation of taxes
What's not so great: Cost for full features is high
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy As Usual

I have been using TurboTax for over 20 years, and I remain pleased with the step-by-step questionnaire approach. It gives me confidence that everything is covered and accurate.
What's great about it: Easy step-by-step process
What's not so great: Sales tax deduction determination seemed delayed and made me think it was forgotten or discontinued

Overall I found prior years Turbo tax easier to use.
What's great about it: I do like Turbo Tax
What's not so great: Did not like the complexity to take advantage of State changes

Overall good, but some anomalies, like saying since you have a small amount due (PA tax) we won't calculate an underpayment penalty, while the same screen shows a refund. The refund status is confirmed in the next step.
Also, in a few places I did not find the Intuit program really intuitive, and I was unsure how to proceed. For example, when I clicked restart TT after loading the program, it did not restart and I waited 20 minutes thinking it was just slow. Then I gave up and clicked on the desktop icon to get it to start. Confusing!
