After choosing an item for review/edit and continuing to look for additional items in step by step review/edit, system always takes me back to the beginning. It would be nice if it took me back where I left off!
I've used system for years and as long as I carefully research items I'm not sure of, system works like a charm and saves us lots of $$ in taxes and also fees from a tax preparer.
What's great about it: I like to be able to go thru and tell which items are finished and which ones still need to edited.
What's not so great: Guide me Step by Step
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbotax 2015 Premiere Review
on March 10, 2016

I'm generally pleased with TurboTax but I have the same 1099's and it's a lot of them each year. Why can't Turbotax keep these as a drop down list that I can choose from and when I do they have all the addresses and ID numbers included. Same thing with my charities. I have a lot of the same charities each year. The same drop-down menu of charities I use should be available to me each year. Not having these make filling out my return very tedious.
What's great about it: Asks the right questions
What's not so great: Nothing but personal info available automatically - Not enough.

Easier Prep

Preparation was quicker this year due to smoother question screens.
Draw back was some check boxes are not checked as in the Pro version.
What's great about it: Quicker preparation
What's not so great: Don't complete checkboxes like Pro version.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This is the 5th year I have used TurboTax to file my Federal return. The data input guidelines were easy to follow and directed me through all elements of income and deductions required to file my tax return efficiently and accurately.
What's great about it: TurboTax Guidelines were easy to follow
What's not so great: None

Easy to understand

We have been using TurboTax for years and have used just about each version. We have had to deal with loss of property, rental income, to purchasing and selling stocks & a small home business. No matter which version, the questions were understandable. If we did need help, there was always explanations and the "what is this?" to explain things further. We really appreciate that you don't have to be an accountant to get your taxes taken care of. We love the reviews and the audit risk ratings too.
What's great about it: You don't need to be an accountant to answer the questions.

I have used TurboTax for years and find it very helpful in organizing materials, guidance on covering all items, and avoiding careless math mistakes.
What's great about it: Easy to use, clear guidance
What's not so great: No clear way to enter interest not covered by a 1099-INT

Disappointed

This had to be the most frustrating Turbo Tax I've used. I pressed the button on the last screen ' Print Return ' and all I got were the forms WITHOUT any numerical values. Just square circles.
Entering the Audit Defense page was very difficult. The time lag to get the 6 digit code confirmation number was 5-10 minutes. It was so slow I kept reapplying. By the time I finally got the code number, the entry page timed out. Surly your servers can't be that slow ( 5-10 minutes )
What's great about it: Entry info easy to enter
What's not so great: Printing is a joke: no numerical values printed; Audit Defense entry was very slow and arduous

Some quibbles

I do not see why users should have to pay to e-file a state return. That cost should be included in the purchase price.
What's great about it: I thought the program did well at incorporating recent changes in the law.
What's not so great: The printing program is awkward. It makes it difficult to select and print just the items one wants to save.
