Expensive but Still the Best

I have used Turbo Tax for the past 15 years. It's expensive but still the best and I have tried the orthers in the past.
What's great about it: Very Easy to Use
What's not so great: A bit expensive for a standard deduction return

Royalties; gas and oil

See my comments for Cons above......I called your help person this year and she was very helpful....I also called last year about the same problem.
What's great about it: Contains most situations in royalty situations
What's not so great: Doesnot contain a question for non ownership for oil and/or gas royalty recepients.

Taxes Completed with Assistance.

Thank you TurboTax in assisting in navigating thru the income and deductions as it has been most beneficial in resolving a lot of questions and less headache in submitting incorrect forms for taxes. I was very pleased with the software as it advised when and where to enter items. The filing time was much shorter than before because the software can prepare federal and state filings all in one submission, a very acceptable way of offering a good service to the public. As an additional requirement added security to the product software was noticed and I am very appreciative for this as well.
What's great about it: Very well pleased with the software.
What's not so great: no comments for dislikes.

2015 Tax's

When at the stage where Turbotax reviews and finds errors, there should be a way to send me directly to the spot in the program to correct the errors. Then after correcting, go back to see the next error to be corrected. As it is, you need to go to the actual tax form, make the correction, then somehow find your way back to see the next error.
Also, when entering information on a asset that I sold during the year. It would be helpful to give an explanation of where the sales info, such as tax's paid and capitol improvements is to be entered. This year's program doesn't give any place to enter this information, so on my own volition, I just added it to the cost basis of the property. Hope this was the correct thing to do....

What's great about it: I like the question and answer format. Generally easy to use.
What's not so great: Difficult to go back and make changes.

What's great about it: I like the format of Turbo Tax. I like not just filling in blanks on a form.
What's not so great: It's not easy to find a telephone number for the support.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Couldn't do it without TurboTax

We have a complicated return because, as retirees, our accounts and pension income come from a foreign country. Turbo Tax makes it possible for us to do our own taxes. It saves us a lot of time by importing previous years data and carry-forward amounts. It simplifies the foreign tax credit calculations and forms that must be filled in to report foreign accounts to the IRS. It does require some improvements with where and how to report foreign social security and pension income, and with the foreign tax credit forms. It was great at the Schedule D form and the wash calculations.
What's great about it: Imports previous year info and carry forward amounts; Imports broker and investment data directly; foreign tax credit
What's not so great: Needs improvement with foreign tax credit form and foreign accounts
Pros: I bought or sold investments
