TurboTax should put the option to apply your refund to next years taxes on the same screen as where they ask whether you want to receive your refund as a check or direct deposit.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
What's not so great: Hard to Apply Refund to Next Years Taxes

What's not so great: capital gains forms difficult to find
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Found unexpected refund

Had no problems except when it found a error I couldn't enter "0" on a line to fix. Took 20 minutes to figure out "override" on mouse to get an entry. Would not file unless I entered "0", what a hassle.
What's great about it: excellent at looking into past and getting data
What's not so great: when it found a error, hard to edit
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

No Fuss, No Muss

I have been using TurboTax for decades and love it. Guides me step by step through everything but then allows me to jump around based on my needs or go directly to forms. Because I keep using it year after year, it has prior year data and has helped me with very complex AMT issues so I have now received credit. Also love the integration with Quicken and It's Deductible. Downloads from banks and investment firms are great! Just wish I didn't have to now pay more for the Premier version for mutual fund ownership. This used to be supported in the Deluxe version.
What's great about it: Remembers data from all my prior year tax filings and uses that to save me the most money.
What's not so great: Must now pay extra for the Premier version because of mutual fund transactions.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Putting in my quarterly state payments took way to much time. I would have given it a five star rating if not for that.
What's great about it: The Q & A section is really good. I got answers to all my questions.
What's not so great: Had a very difficult time finding how to put in my quaterly state payments made.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Used Turbo tax for 10 years, Very easy to use. I was able to teach by two sons how to use it as they filed their taxes this year. i don't understand why anyone would use a tax professional service when they could save money and have the convenience of doing their taxes at home.. You can import previous years tax information.
What's great about it: easy to use, help available but not required. prevous years taxes saved for import.
What's not so great: State taxes filing is not free. takes longer to get money in comparison to tax professional service
