My brothers, sister, and myself inherited money from my passing father. I was skeptical about using Turbo Tax, instead of a tax professional. I did it anyway. i entered all the forms when Turbo asked, and they guided me thru the process with no inhibitions, on my part. It was smooth and made me feel very comfortable about doing this years taxes. Turbo even asked me questions i did not think about.
I have been using Turbo Tax for years and almost always satisfied. Last year using Turbo Tax was difficult. I was not going to use it this year, but they came thru and made a lot of improvements. Thanks, it was a pleasure writing this!!!!!

What's great about it: Not owing but a REFUND
What's not so great: Scary that it might be false on the refund
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Quick and easy

To me Turbo tax is easy to use. I love the help features I can click on if I have questions.
What's great about it: download w-2, info from investment firms, less typing and figuring out where things go
What's not so great: used for years. gets better all the time
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Pretty good but for some reason I had to manually enter data from my 2014 return that I had prepared using TurboTax

Meh, more help would be better

If you're a business or individual with complex returns, you'd be better served by a CPA or a financial advisor. This is perfect for the in-betweens where you have multiple W2's and other investments. More help texts and descriptions would definitely help in some of the complex scenarios. The interface also wasn't ideal to edit some of the stock sale scenarios (if I made a typo, I had to delete and redo instead of being able to simply edit). Also, would be good if other import formats are supported since if you have multiple entries, you either have manually type them in or mail it in.
What's great about it: Easy for most common scenarios
What's not so great: Premier is for complex tax returns and that's not made any easy

Rental sale easy

I have used turbo tax for many years. This year we sold our rental property and the filing was very easy. With the phone help of my CPA sister for some clarity of a few points, I was able to complete my taxes in a long afternoon. I will continue to use Turbo Tax but with little for deductions and no business expense it should be a breeze.
What's great about it: easy to do
What's not so great: had to call accountant relative for a few clues

Love doing my own taxes with Turbo Tax! I have tried another brand and ended up not filing my taxes with it but bought Turbo Tax and filed with it.
