The 2015 program performed flawlessly right through e-filing versus 2014 when I was forced to file paper returns. The backup file saved on disk was complete and gives me the confidence I need to clear the program from my pc.
What's great about it: Program performed flawlessly for 2015 returns in contrast to 2014.
What's not so great: No problems with 2015.

I have used Turbo Tax for 15 + years. Each year it seems to improve. I would not think of using any thing else and certainly would not consider trying to do my taxes by hand.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and use.
What's not so great: None - Very thorough.

I recommend perfecting your software to be able to consolidate multiple stock trading transactions and handle more than 300 transactions.

Always the easiest way to "do it yourself"

I love being able to breeze though even complicated itemized returns, and know that I'm getting the best possible outcome!
This software works great on my Mac and my PC and NEVER crashes! How many programs can you say that about?
What's great about it: Love being able to trust the results
What's not so great: couldn't add audit protection after I submitted e-File
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

better than ever...

We used an accountant for a couple of years because of complications with our taxes following the death of a loved one. The program is as good as--better than--ever.
What's great about it: Guidance throughout the process.
What's not so great: Used CPA last year and could not upload info for 2-year comparisons.

confusing

Every year it seems to get more and more complicated. Royalties that were a return on a continuing investment was overwhelming. I still don't understand. It's also interesting that I had to upgrade, "pay more money", to solve the problem.
What's great about it: the program worked a little easier this year
What's not so great: figuring out how to file royalties that were to me return on an investment was confusing to say the list.

Another Tax Year Put to Bed

It's extremely helpful to have the flexibility to allow the Program to step you through all the possible questions in sequence if it's a section you're is not familiar with or if it's an area you've had previous exposure to, you can use your own knowledge to select which areas to skip and which to complete. It improves efficiency on what can be a long, tedious process. Over time, and multiple years of use, the Program teaches you about how the tax code works, and the implications of your choices.
When you are answering questions and filling in blanks, you can lose perspective on how those answers impact your tax calculations (other than watching the refund box change). If in question, go to the actual tax form to see how the value/answer is being used.
What's great about it: Flexibility on how you submit answers
What's not so great: When answering questions, you can lose perspective on impact
