Easy to Use and Jump Around

Easy to use for those experienced in filing their own returns as well as for those who're using it for the first time. If you're experienced, you don't feel burdened by having to answer unnecessary questions. Yet, if you need the guidance, thorough step-by-step instructions are provided.

A good product for beginner to expert

All in all I like Tubo Tax and will use it again. I do wish you had the option of just plug in numbers on forms you definitely know / understand. Which you do on Schedule E but should be option for all forms.
What's great about it: Can walk you through each line and process is failrly painless
What's not so great: Can not view the actual forms while inputing information

Time consuming experience

Could not compete Mother's return because TurboTax did not recognize the oil and gas leases as rental on Schedule E. It would show the amount in the rental field, but would not add it to income. Finally, found a help topic that said oil & gas rents needed to be on a separate Schedule E from oil & gas runs. Still got an error message, but the total was added to gross income. Could not file electronically since there was an error on the form. It did look like the state form was filed electronically, since the credit card was charged for filing. I spent extra money for the premium version for help with royalties and didn't get my monies worth.
My return accepted the Schedule E amounts since I only had oil and gas runs. However, the software did not ask if I wanted to make estimate payments for 2016. The form for estimates was not listed with the other forms. I finally displayed my 1040 form and manually requested that my refund be applied to 2016's estimate. This gave me access to the estimate forms. How would I have accessed this forms if I hadn't had a refund?
Can't the help feature be more useful, and can't Turbotax address the estimate issue?
What's great about it: automatic calculation
What's not so great: does not recognize oil & gas leases correctly or ask for estimate info

The usual good program

Turbo tax is a good product, I use every year. I dont know why some choices are erased when I go back and do a section again. usually for things that don't apply, and I must read and select again. extra work.
