Piece of Cake

It was quick and easy, as always. I've been using TurboTax since the mid 1980's and it continues to get better and better each year. I've tried other tax-prep products but they ar just not as intuitive and easy to use.

Return is Sent!

Getting back to the return I had almost finished, and trying to delete the former Turbo , not the last one.
Computer filed the one away I was working on, but would not let me delete the one I wasn't working on.
Finally I am sending in the right return., Thanks for the effient thorough guidlines. It was a greata nelp!

Almost perfect.

Initially, I was very impressed by how easy it was to prepare my 2015 tax return using TurboTax. However, I then learned that my return had been rejected. I was a victim of tax fraud in 2013 when somebody attempted to claim my refund. I was therefore given a 6-digit identity protection pin (ip pin) by the IRS. When TurboTax asked for my PIN, I attempted to enter this 6-digit PIN. However, the box would only accept 5 characters. I therefore attempted to make my 6-digit pin into a 5-digit pin by removing the leading zero and entered this. However, my return was not accepted by the IRS. I then realized that I needed to enter both a 5-digit and a 6-digit pin. I let TurboTax do a search to determine my 5-digit pin. In order to enter my 6-digit pin, I needed to do a search for ip pin then click the link allowing me to enter this. I found the process for entering the ip pin confusing and think it would have been better if TurboTax had asked my if the IRS had provided me with a 6-digit ip pin after it asked me for the normal 5-digit pin. It could have then allowed me to answer yes and to conveniently enter my 6-digit ip pin, thereby eliminating unnecessary confusion.
What's great about it: TurboTax makes tax preparation about as easy as possible and saves the expense of paying a tax preparer.
What's not so great: For those who were victims of tax fraud, it shoud be easier to enter your 6-digit identity protection pin.

turbo tax worked well

turbo tax was very easy to follow able to finish taxes in a timely fashion. Allowed me to work a little bit at a time and return to finish as additional info became available.
What's great about it: ease of use and easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I recommend the product. Downloading information from an investment company works great and makes the tax process easier.
What's great about it: This year the product seems to be improved and easier to understand the questions
What's not so great: Some of the special case questions need wording changes to be clearer if they appliy
