Tax Return Software

1099-MISC was pushing a small amount of non-employee income to Business income. That didn't happen for 2014. I it because I noted that this work was done in 2014 and in 2015?
I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what the business code would be. Entering 999999 was not allowing me to e-file.

What's great about it: Easy to Use, helpful hints.
What's not so great: 1099-MISC Non-employee income enrty was going to business income which was not the case in 2014.

Second state should not be charged so much to file

The charge to do & e-file a second state costs too much & that alone costs more than the whole program which does & file the federal & one state tax
What's great about it: You walk through all deductions
What's not so great: You charge to much to file for the second state

Not as good as it was. Does not explain in detail as it has in the past. Turbotax is slipping. Need to make it better than other tax software or drop the price down to the other companies.

Handling Existing Account Payment

The process of getting back to your e-mail for revised code or 6 digit number was impossible. Every time I tried they said number and time expired, even when I used 2 computers. Had to go to extra cost and have payment for e-mail deducted from my return.
REALLY NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED.
What's great about it: easy to complete
What's not so great: impossible to work with if you forgot your password or Id code

Did not work correctly

I will not be using turbo tax in the future since it failed to calculate the tax on line 44 of form 1040
What's great about it: have used turbo tax for many years without problem
What's not so great: there is no way to contact turbo tax to get an answer

Gets easier by the year

Turbo Tax imported all my data from last year, easily allowed for updates, and maximized my refund. I've been using it for 25 years and it's Great!
What's great about it: Easy importing of past and current data, easy updating
What's not so great: Absolutely none

Have used for years and with varying tax situations and always confident and satisfied with my returns.
What's great about it: Reminds me of things I forget every year
What's not so great: Sometimes seems to ask me things to fill in that didnt change from last years taxes; or know how to answer.

it worked very well

I used the Turbo Tax Premier and it worked very well. I sold Stock that was in a long term investment and it was very easy to enter this information. I was very pleased with this program
What's great about it: it asked simple questions about your taxes
What's not so great: When trying to see how much i could put in my IRA that would save on my Taxes it should tell how much to contribute.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
