So easy!

I have used TurboTax for years and am surprised each year to find that it has improved again. The only suggestion I have is you could save me some time by providing a check list at the beginning listing everything needed to complete the form to insure I have gathered everything before I start.

Continues to improve

What's great about it: Gets easier every year to file
What's not so great: Moved from a MAC to PC last year but even though i filed on a PC last year could not open the file

Easy to use

I was able to work through everything a little at a time, as documents came in, then go through everything at the end to make sure it was complete. Easy to use, quick and informative.
The one frustration was when I realized I'd put some incorrect information into calculating the basis of a new property for calculating rental income. I couldn't get back to the helpful little worksheet where I'd entered the details, and ended up having to recalculate the correct basis and allocation, then type it in over the final numbers. This was only the supporting details schedules, and didn't prevent me from changing it, it just didn't walk me through fixing it.
What's great about it: I could work on it a little at a time, as documents arrived, then review everything.
What's not so great: Couldn't find the details used to calculate property basis and allocation to land, had to recalculate by hand.

First Time User

From start to finish it took me approximately 45 minutes. That's partially due to my need to double check everything so, it could be quicker for some. This is was my first time using Turbo Tax and it definitely won't be my last. The questions in this program are the same I had to answer for other tax professionals, so this program seems pretty thorough. Great product, I will be using it again next year.
What's great about it: Simple. Quick. Thorough.
What's not so great: Honestly none.

Program errors

1. 1099R for federal pensions does NOT have a block 7a and 7b. This needs to be corrected to match documents received which reflect on a block 7.
2. Form 8582 sates worksheets must be filed with tax return. However, there is no evidence that this form is transmitted to the IRS as it does not print out with other documents.
3. For federal pensions, the questions asked reguarding normal monthly retirement benefits that were not annuity distribution were very confusing and this needs clarification.
What's not so great: Turbo tax is not always compatible with income tax documents or is inconsistent in its statements

Excellent Job in 2015

Thank you for making Tax filing simple but very specific if need be. Then the filing process was filed in 1.minute. this year i used my new iMac. I think it was processed much faster than my PC last year.
