Turbo Tax 2016

The Energy Credit was confusing as to what is & what is not covered or allowed. Do you have to meet minimum income levels to get credits? How much actual credit will one get? All spent on energy products, just a percentage, or a specific dollar amount? The helpful hints did not provide the answers & even the federal instructions that came with the forms were also very confusing, vague and not helpful at all. While the federal instructions are beyond your control, the tips and helpful hints could be more specific and more helpful to those of us who come across this particular credit. I'm just praying that I don't get audited for filling out this particular form.
What's great about it: Quick and Easy
What's not so great: Energy Credits not clearly explained

I'm still sold on TurboTax. Easy to install and easy to follow even with my complex returns. I like the concept that I can still do my own tax return and I'm not dependent upon someone else. Updates are straight-forward. Using an iMac over the last 3 years has only made the experience better than struggling with a Windows system. Well done Intuit!
What's great about it: Very easy to follow the interview even though I know what areas to have the data ready to input.
What's not so great: Not always sure where zeroes are to be inserted. Seems like the error check catches anything I missed.

having been in the electronic accounting machines, data processing, Information systems world since 1953; it is a delight to use the Turbo Tax software. Turbo has come along way in providing an easy to use, simple next step processing, smooth loopbacks, temporary holds and instant transfer of money received to your bank.
I cannot say enough good things about Turbo Tax and their products capabilities.
What's great about it: the entire package is a quality product to use thus minimal time to do

Turbo Tax Titilates

Improvements from year to year - it just keeps getting easier and quicker to do taxes. Nice job Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Super efficient carry over of forms from previous years!
What's not so great: Two sided printing - could use blank sheet between fed and state forms - so state forms 1st page print front side.

Confusing and buggy compared to previous years

I have used TurboTax for years and this is the first year I would rate it as only being an average product.
What's great about it: It is still functional
What's not so great: The flow of the screens was awkward and I never had to wait for so many bug fixes in previous years.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Disappointment

I think I am done with Turbotax. Didn't carry info from last year to this year. wouldn't down load investment info from brokerage. had to enter everything myself, and turbotax missed my carryover loss from 2014. I might as well use free tax software from now on.
What's great about it: It added everything properly
What's not so great: couldn't down load investment income (TXF)
