Easiest way to file

Have been using turbo tax for the last 20 years. Have not found any reason not to keep using it!!

Better Each Year

I give TurboTax high marks. But I also found a few rough edges in the program.
1. You need to have the ability to adjust the font size in the tax help windows. I found the text hard to read.
2. You lose your spot in the program when you access forms and return. Also the same holds true, when you jump around in the program and return.
3.I could not find help on using the program itself. I could not remember from last years program how to enable to add supporting details to a key entry spot. I found Ctrl + I after about 45 minutes of trial & error.
4. The sliding curser on the right vertical side of the window was jerky and non responsive at times. Granted I have an old computer, but I don't remember this problem using Turbo tax in years past. I'm using windows 7.

Easy to Use!

TurboTax is easy to use and I have found that I get a higher refund than I did from H&R Block software. I did a side by side comparison a couple of years back. I'm also confident that my taxes are accurate. Plus I like the option of your auditing help service.
What's great about it: Easy to use and accurate
What's not so great: I don't have anything that you can improve upon, I'm 100% satisfied

Makes life easy

What's great about it: simple to use and seems to do a great job
What's not so great: Doesn't inquire in life change options
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used Turbotax (and Macintax) for years and years, and this version is the best yet.
What's great about it: Clear, simple directions; can follow order or do on my own
What's not so great: I wish there weren't so many updates that slow things down. Not your fault.

Handles complex situations well

Even though I have a lot of experience with taxes (I volunteer to do taxes for others through an AARP sponsored program), I still use the interview process in TT to be sure I haven't forgotten anything on the return. The interview process is particularly helpful if you are inexperienced with tax returns as TT gives you a lot of hand-holding. Using TT year-over-year allows you to track taxes, refunds, carry-forwards, etc., easily which is very helpful. I have used other, popular, tax software in the past and, at the time, needed to do a lot of research on my own to get it to work. I would not attempt to do taxes that have a lot of stock, bond or options transactions without TT Premier. You can use TT for just about anything unless you have inheritances, trusts, or other potentially complex legal issues, in which case you should see a good CPA or tax attorney.
What's great about it: If you have K-1 forms, you should use TurboTax Premier. Does the complex reporting accurately.
What's not so great: I still have to type, what a bummer.
