Lives up to my expectation

Failed to perform the correct calculation for the child care credit when prior year info is retrieved. All info has to be deleted and current year data, though the same, has to be re-inputted to obtain the correct calculation. There is a flaw in the software that needs to be addressed since folks who are not familiar with the requirement will get shortchanged by this software error.
What's great about it: Saves time
What's not so great: Does not perform correct info child care expenses

In entering information from my 1099's, somehow the same data was loaded twice: the same amount, from the same payer. I only found this out from cross checking the TurboTax printout of the retirement worksheet with the paper 1099's I received. It would be helpful if TurboTax could check for duplicates where both the same payer and exact dollar amounts match. Otherwise, a fantastic system.

Easy, but...

There is a consistent problem with the various Turbo Tax programs which I wish they would correct. Sometimes, upon my manual review, I note an input error or TT identifies an error -- poor manual dexterity, dyslexia, just looking at the wrong number, who know what - it is often hard to identify the step-by-step input item to correct it. At times, I've encountered this on my complex personal return and also, recently, on an incredibly simple business return. When an error is identified, TT should direct you the appropriate input screen. Right click allows you to override a number. That same feature could identify the source input.
What's great about it: Step-by-step is good

Yearly Taxes

Since using Turbo Tax, I've felt comfortable and relieved with the process and documentation - not having to search for and fill-in the appropriate forms for both federal and state returns.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions and required information.
What's not so great: There were a few glitches with program - minor.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Difficult at end

When it came to correcting errors Tt did not explain in all cases what was needed in the boxes it brought up. Did not understand what to put, a DOB or $ numbers. Confusing. I finally printed out the complete federal and state and went over it with pen and hand and worked it out.
What's great about it: Went smoothly initially

Easy to use

I have used this product for several years. It gets better every year (except for last years fiasco about which version I had to use.) I'm happy to see this was corrected. It is easy to use, straight forward and has many handy explanations of the IRS rules that can help you decide if a particular entry applies. I love using this.
What's great about it: options to use either guided or specific form entry.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
