not exactly clear with when kids need their own returns. I think I missed 1098T one kid in college form last year with Turbo Tax. This year 2 kids in college and $5K deduction for tuition payments. When you get to state return it asks for different tuition inputs and doesn't explain what's included in that (why would it be different from federal?). When you auto input from brokerage acct - kids UTMA accts come in as part of yours unless you manually extract them. Then you need to determine which kids get inputted and which need their own returns (4 kids). 1099B form for kid requires their own return. $1050 div/int. combine with yours, etc...
What's great about it: great for standard items
What's not so great: sometimes its not exactly clear what the rules are with kids, UTMA, college tuition, kids W2, dividends, etc...
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have used Turbo Tax for the past 15 years without any problems. I've never used any other tax software so I don't know how it compares. My feeling is that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. However having said that, it is a little pricy since I have to purchase the Premier Edition to be able to download broker information.
What's great about it: Plain language is used to describe definitions of terms.
What's not so great: None

no one likes to do taxes but this system makes it acceptable ... and easy to use
