Love TurboTax

I have used Turbotax for at least 15 years and saved a lot both in terms of preparation fees and the help with uncovering additional deductions. Great product and good people behind it.
What's great about it: Easy upload of prior year!
What's not so great: Only Oregon's weird laws regarding registered domestic partner filings.

Doing taxes yourself takes extra time and steps.
What's great about it: Can do it online
What's not so great: Need to have all your information super organized
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy & Convenient

I liked it. I would suggest to have desktop and online system in sync or should have asked the user if interested in syncing.
What's great about it: Guidance and navigate through each and every steps. One need not to be an expert on tax filling. with you own pace
What's not so great: Desktop version is not synced with online version of Turbo tax. Both are considered two separate systems

Cheaper than an accountant

I have been using turbo tax for at least 10 years now. I like it, its not terribly hard to use, and you are in control of the information that you enter. I can get it done in an evening and send it electronically.
What's great about it: do it at home, do it yourself, you don't have to spend a fortune with an accountant
What's not so great: It can take a few hours to a couple of days to gather and enter the info.

Couldn't Have Done It Without You

For years I use to complete my tax return manually. It took me hours to read the new tax laws, perform the calculations and fill out the forms. When I put my return in the mail, I agonized about whether or not the Post Office would lose it. I've been using Turbo Tax for the past several years and it has been a breath of fresh air. I just put in the data and you do all the calculations, fill out the forms and even send them to the IRS. I now spend a fraction of the time and feel confident that my return is being sent. Thanks Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Had trouble with Capital Loss Carry Over.

Very good product

I've used TT Premium for many years. Easy carry forward of data for a quick start, as well as most of state is filled in and calculated for you from federal data. Easy to fill out and understand screens, flexible with either guided or free form data entry. Easy to toggle between step-by-step screens and the actual forms, where you can also click a field and see where the data is calculated. I found the help forum extremely helpful on complex topics like selling a rental property, depreciation, etc.
What's great about it: Easy to understand, flexible guided or freeform data entry. Great forum help on complex questions.
What's not so great: No way to submit bug report to developers.
