Great Product!!

There is no clear understanding of how to enter the sale of a rental house. Only once I received the 1099-S and searched how to enter a 1099-S I did gain some insight on how to list the sale of the rental house, but it is not clear or straight forward like everything else in Turbo Tax. When asked if you sold or disposed of the property there should be a link or further instructions about how to enter the sale of a rental property.
What's great about it: Overall very easy to use Turbo Tax.
What's not so great: Difficulty finding how to enter the sale of rental house.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Thorough but Still Tricky for Investments

Overall, this is a major time saver. I switched from pricey accountants to TurboTax five or six years ago and have never looked back. Now retired, I'm removing funds from IRA accounts and non-IRA brokerage accounts, and I find the documentation process quite tricky. I think TT could be a bit more helpful in filling out the forms. That's my only reservation.
I file an Oregon tax form via TT, too, and TT is immensely helpful with that. The Oregon form was designed by demented gnomes in Salem (more flip-flopping of sheets and circular entering of data than you'd believe). TT does away with that torment entirely. Thank you, thank you!
What's great about it: Import of previous year's info; import of investment data
What's not so great: Partial import of investment data, not all; stock sales data needs to be easier and clearer
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Have used Turbo Tax for 8 years and it just gets better each year. Now my family members want me to help them use Turbo Tax. I love the software, the support and the community answers. Cannot go wrong with this software. Years ago I used H & R Block and it was a nightmare to understand. No worries, Turbo Tax is the place to go for your tax preparation needs.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

I use turbo tax every year and it has always been a breeze. I will admit that some of the terms used in the more complicated sections are a bit hard to navigate if you are unfamiliar with tax jargon. Overall, I will continue to use this software to do my taxes because it makes the tax process less confusing. Less confusing and user friendly are two major benefits regarding yearly income tax preparation in my opinion. Thanx!!
What's great about it: It has a step by step process to guide you.
What's not so great: Sometimes the more complicated items are hard to figure out.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Process was fairly fast considering the complexity of what is required for entry and verification. Since I had to do the entries and checking in multiple sessions there were a few times that my prior answers to questions were not retained. Also a couple of institutions would not transfer data in spite of being on the list of participating sources e.g. Pershing Netxinvestor - popup indicated they were not compatible with Turbotax. Curious that at one point I was to re-check entries from prior year return in spite of having used Turbotax for a number of consecutive years. But overall it was fast and thorough even on the State portion. In fact, once the Fed was done, the State was very fast because so much was carried forward from Fed.
What's great about it: Quick entry Easy finding most items
What's not so great: Not all retained from session to session on very minor things

Good, but not great

Turbo Tax is great for me as a repeat user. My frustrations are mostly with Quicken default reports not matching Tax schedules. Specifically, short and long term cap gain distributions do not appear in most default reports including Sched D, yet they are reported on Sched D in my tax return. Numerous people have raised this as an issue in the forums but Intuit doesn't seem interested in making this correction. Talking with Quicken support didn't help and getting support was difficult and time consuming.
What's great about it: Pretty straight forward for an experienced user
What's not so great: Quicken Reports do not always match
