TurboTax makes filing taxes quite simple, even if you have some complicated forms
What's great about it: explains very well step by step
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I would recommend Turbo Tax, but remain vigilant in reviewing final product prior to filing.
What's great about it: Time saving
What's not so great: calculating process bugs not completely resolved at time of early filing

Always use TurboTax

I have used TT for many years. The ability to import the prior year's data makes doing taxes so easy. I also like to run alternative scenarios. For example, I needed to determine if my dependent son should file on my return or on his own. I also run scenarios for determining impact of charitable donations and other future planning activities.
What's great about it: Import data from previous year, ability to do scenarios
What's not so great: none

Amended Federal Return

Your Turbo Tax program must have a coding error. Even though I selected to amend my accepted 1040 return, I could not get Turbo Tax to create a 1040X form. I had to go to the IRS web site, print a copy of the 1040X, and fill it out manually. Please provide an exclamation.
What's great about it: Easy to recompute the corrections, however,
What's not so great: The completed 1040X form can not be created using Turbo Tax.

simple to use

I have been using turbo tax for over 10 years and I think it is the easy and most reliable software to use. The only con is they charge for e-filing of the state taxes and the bank fees are too high for just doing electronic transfers. Overall I think it does a great job of doing your taxes on your own.
What's great about it: very easy to use, I found deductions I did not know about
What's not so great: The fees for the transer of refunds and the e-filing of the state should be free.

TT Premier

It worked very well for me. I anticipated a problem with Scheduled D and some sales of stocks and mutual funds, but the software handled it smoothly. I did have difficulty at the very end when I tried to pay for the state tax with a credit card but overall it did the job.
What's great about it: Ease of use

A little slow at moving to the point of left off last time using app for current return.
I've used Turbo Tax for ever or most times done my own tax returns the hard way.
Good product and worth the investment. Quicken a good product also.

Taxes done easy

I have been using Intuit TurboTax to do my taxes for many years now. I am always satisfied with the software and how easy it is to use. E-filing is safe and easy to use as well. I would recommend it to everyone to use.
What's great about it: Very easy to use and concise in walking you through each step of the way.
What's not so great: I didn't see any.
