E-file is rejected, signature keeps putting PIN instead of AGI.. tells me to select option 1 for signature.. but has no place to select option one! stupid!
What's great about it: not much
What's not so great: Return is rejected, invalid PIN, can't change to AGI.. stupid

TurboTax 2015 Review
on November 24, 2016

I've been using TurboTax almost since it started. 1. For the past 4 years or so, each version of TurboTax from year to year seems to have more difficulty with doing taxes for different individuals. This year it was quite bad. It would confuse my daughter's for my sons, for example. This was dangerous because I almost overwrote my son's when it swapped my daughter's tax return but used his name somehow. Please correct this. 2. Also, please, please give us back "save-as". Every other software product in the world has save-as, and the current version of TurboTax does not and requires me to jump through hoops to make a new version of the tax form with a new name. Trying to work around the software not having save-as almost caused me to make a mistake and lose important changes. Just put it back so we can work with TurboTax like we work with any other piece of software. If you can get the file menu to work like it did three or more years ago, this would be great. If this has not been corrected for 2016, I think I'll look at another product. It's too frustrating the way it is.
What's great about it: Seems to work okay
What's not so great: I do mulitple tax rerturns, and the current interface confuses them. Also, Save-As is missing.

Some glitches

Like how thorough it is, (or appears to be), but when carrying over the depreciation of a vehiucle used for a small business, we kept getting errors (prior year depreciation basis on IT). Decided to drop the car depreciation this year and 2 days of looking over the prior NYS and Federal return provided no satisfactory answer that decreased the tax refund by about $400 total. Decided rather than send in a return with an error we didn't understand, we would simply skip the deduction.
On cost basis tracking -- the bane of my tax returns -- I was surprised to see some prefilled cost basis for some sales. How did that happen?? I decided to go with Turbo Tax's cost basis, but have no idea where that came from.
What's great about it: Very thorough
What's not so great: Depreciation of auto and cost basis tracking
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Save the answers provided when asking questions such as "was this your main skill job" while updating K1, was this a dependent... when updating dependents, and so on, there are many instances where we have to enter again data that was already provided when updating or reviewing sections.
What's great about it: Considers and reviews, I hope, all the rules from the IRS
What's not so great: Need to re-enter data multiple times when reviewing or updating some instances, such as K-1 data, 1099 data, etc.

What's great about it: Ease of inputting data and accuracy
What's not so great: Somewhat costly because just a few investment gains and losses required Primier

Cumbersome and confusing

I received a "Notification" with an option to flag or fix. The flag option just locked up the computer. The fix option launched through repetitive rounds of an area that I had already covered, although some of my selections were no longer selected.
I was informed that it was too late to e-file, yet I was subsequently offered the option to e-file several times. The option to print PDFs was offered but was not available.
I've used turbotax for a number of years and this is the most difficulty I've ever had. That is not progress.
What's great about it: Got the job done.........eventually
What's not so great: kept running me back through the same choices

I love Turbo Tax and have used it for years. I will not use anything else. I trust it and it has not ever let me down. Just need to tweek the question area so I don't have to go through so many other peoples questions until I find one that pertains to me.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Need to be able to answer questions in a better way
