Excellent! What a relief!

I have used TurboTax for the past 30 years! If seeing the actual forms as you go along is important to you, then TurboTax Premier is what you want. Easy to understand and work with, if you are patient and allow it to lead you carefully all the way through, to include both the 1040 and your state returns.

I've been using TurboTax for many years and I'm always happy with how quickly I can do my taxes. I remember the years of filling out forms and making all the calculations. Now I get TurboTax every year and I can do my taxes in one evening! Great!

always a pleasure to get step by step info. the only thing I don't like is having to scroll down each time to get thru all the list of income or deductions. Love the import from my broker--cannot imagine doing any of that by hand anymore.
What's great about it: walking thru step by step & double checking

2015 taxes

I have used TT for a few years. I like it, but last couple of years every time I open the program there is an update. Forms are not as easy to find. Too many questions about vague items. Please make it a little bit more user friendly
What's great about it: step by step
What's not so great: Too many updates, not easy to navigate, hard to find some items

Gets easier Every year

This year taxes took even less time. More import options (I always had to do certain stock entries manually). I just wish there was an all inclusive copy where I didn't have to enter my credit card to e-file state every year.
What's great about it: More places to import from
What's not so great: Wish there was a pack that included the state efile fee

From my understanding from friends, a lot less expensive to do taxes yourself with software such as TurboTax than going to a professional tax preparer. Besides half the battle is gathering all the "paperwork"- W2, 1099's, charitable contributions, etc. Then you can feed in the data into the computer.
The tax preparer knows more than the typical tax payer but the preparer is simply feeding the data into the computer just like a TurboTax user.
What's great about it: Very user friendly, especially if your taxes are the pretty much the same from year to year.
What's not so great: California State tax not quite as user friendly. Also State e-file is not cheap.

Printing state forms to file.

I have tried every thing I could think of to make this program print my Louisiana tax return to mail and all I get is forms saying do not to mail saying they are not ready. What is going on.

i have used Turbo Tax for several years now…its very easy to use, covers all the pertinent questions and suggests how to best answer them for your best tax return options.
