I love Turbo Tax!!!

Turbo Tax was easier then ever!
I love the ? pop up windows that confirms if the given area relates to your needs. I also love how you can let the system guide you or handle on your own.

The search method is also handy. It takes you right where you need to go!
Its my 4th year using Turbo Tax and I do nothing but rant and rave about how easy it is and how much money I save every year by handling my own taxes.

Keeps Getting Easier

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years now and this year's taxes were the easiest by far to calculate. We have rental income and a home office so its not always the easiest to calculate, but it seemed easier this year than in years' past (knock on wood). I felt as if more details were paid attention to by Intuit since 2014 -- making sure EVERY QUESTION was asked, every deduction or expense questioned, to get you the best possible refund. Hopefully I'm not jinxing things, but it just went a lot smoother than last years. DONE!
What's great about it: Detailed step-by-step instructions
What's not so great: Have to pay to file State return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Decedent E-file Error

I have been using TuboTax for years. It is normally excellent. However it is not accurate in handling filing for a decedent.
TurboTax said I could e-file a decedent return and only print and sign Form 1310. The e-file failed.
After further research, I was advised by another source that I would have to mail the entire return and also sign Form 1040 as a "personal representative".
TurboTax, please correct your program
What's great about it: Excellent with calculations
What's not so great: Incorrect E-file advise

Great With One Exception

Have used TurboTax for several years and it works great. This year, however, I could not purchase AuditDefense from within TurboTax. Followed the instructions to reach out to a person and that person also was UNABLE to purchase.
I finally had to go to the audit defense site, directly, purchase, then go back to TurboTax and refuse audit defense.
KLUDGE and spoiled a great experience.
What's great about it: Easy instructions, import tax documents, etc.
What's not so great: Could not purchase Audit Defense - HUNG Window
