I have used Turbo Tax several times, but when I have a question it doesn't answerer directly, I put my question in then it pops up a bunch of questions other people have asked with there answers and try to find one similar to mine then see if that answers my question. this is the first time I have used Turbo Tax when I had a rental to document.
What's not so great: it was not known right away as I started the my tax that I would have to find Form E to putting in the info on my rental

This is the 3rd year of using turbo tax. Each year it gets less and less difficult. Well worth the expense .
What's great about it: just follow the prompts
What's not so great: can be a little imtimidating

OK for the easy stuff

Still cannot easily enter foreign pension information even after preparing a substitute 1099-R and so cannot e-file.
Frequently have to force an entry to be entered or corrected - this year it was the Third Party Designee.

What's great about it: Simple to use most of the time
What's not so great: Have to be vigilant for items that need to be corrected manually

I've been using TurboTax for a few years, but now that I'm starting to get income other than W-2's, I'm extra glad to be using it. There's a lot of paperwork that I was able to skip for interest, dividends, and student loans because TurboTax auto-filled them after I gave basic info.
What's great about it: Quickly covers all bases and maximized returns. Helped with more complex tax items.
What's not so great: Had to pay to e-file state taxes

It can be an intimidating steep learning curve trying to parse the sometimes vague "Is it taxable or deductible or an imminent penalty".
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is a respectable DIY for the person who does not like being in the dark regarding his fiances
What's not so great: Turbo tax is not for the timid soul facing numbers, records, and lots of probable taxes in the midnight hour.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Identity Stolen

Spent hours doing my return, clicked the submit button after doing all the verification, id checks, and banking info. Then to find out someone else filed under my ssan. Wonder if they had to do all the identity checks like I did. Now the IRS says 6 months to fix it. Identity repair service engaged. Last time I try to efile with Turbotax.
What's not so great: Identiy Stolen
