EASY PEEZIE

just think it is an awesome way to keep up with your future and how to mold the savings and expenses.
What's great about it: asks all the right questions, lets you back track easily.
What's not so great: had a updater file corruption on last years that Turbo Tax could not fix. it was a corrupted file from the start. got fi

Federal Great, State needs work

We lived in 2 states this year. The Turbo Tax program did not autoprorate dtat to IN. It did ask for dates in each state so it had dta but I had to pro rate and study SS income (IN does NOT taax SS
What's great about it: Easy to see where to enter Fed data
What's not so great: State (IN) did not auto fill proraations

Quick and easy!

It loads all the information from you previous returns, walks you through the information you need and checks to ensure accuracy. It makes it quick and easy to file but unfortunately it cannot take the pain away from having to file and pay taxes.
What's great about it: Makes it easy by walking you through the information you need

Mixed import of information

I've been doing my mother's taxes for the past 14 years. Every year it asks when my father died. It also asks the same questions about every thing she inherited and what she did with the items. It seems like it should remember this info. I am tempted to try a different product to see it it handles the situation better. I am also disappointed that the product does not include Form 709. Although, I'm not sure any of the other products do either.
What's great about it: Imports info from previous years.
What's not so great: Does not pre-fill answers from previous years. Does not remember answers if you go back to a section to review.

alittle difficult with filing our 1099 forms

Most of the forms are self understanding, but when it comes to some of the forms with dividends and interest paid, I had trouble finding the information. Not real clear on what they needed.
What's great about it: they walk you through all forms line by line
What's not so great: alittle difficult in knowing what to put where as far as 1099s

No Brainer!

I download Turbo Tax at the beginning of the tax season. I then input the various documents; (1099s, etc.), Real estate tax, medical bills, etc. as they become available. I don't save them all up and input them all at once. You'd be surprised how much easier this approach get's the return done!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax can't make arcane tax code any easier.
What's not so great: Too many update downloads.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
