Gets better every year.

I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years now and continue to be impressed with the ease of use of the software. It is very easy to install and will take you through the whole return step by baby step, or you can choose to enter information by skipping steps and coming back to them. I have a rental property and was impressed with the way Turbo Tax keeps track of my expenses/profits and imports information from past tax years. Very easy to set up direct deposit accounts for your refunds/payments. Excellent resource options. Great product!
Very user friendly.
What's great about it: Efficient data entry options with easy to understand directions.
What's not so great: Really cant think of any right now.

A taxing pain, but what are you gonna do?

Can't say it was a fun experience; but after we sort everything out; there's not much benefit in paying someone else to fill in the blanks. It takes a bit of reading help files to get up to speed on what things mean--took a bit of backtracking when things weren't tallying up to what they should have been. Had some royalty stuff double entered. Eventually, I started learning the terminology and things began making more sense--and next year It will be "deja vu--all over again.
What's great about it: Costs less than paying someone else--have to sort it all anyway
What's not so great: Only think about this a few weeks a year--takes some study to get up to speed

Easy, but extra charges for state efile is bad
on February 16, 2016

Like the program, used premier and was very disappointed in two items.
CD is difficult to install from from my MAC. Lame that a internet download key is not provided.
State Return e-filing costs another 20 bucks. On top of that surprise, it is very difficult to e-file fed and paper file state. I will be looking into other options next year despite being a 15 year user of turbotax.
What's great about it: Easy input, works complex tax situations.
What's not so great: State efile not included, system makes it hard to file paper for state return.

The ONLY way to prepare your taxes!

Feel very confident in using Turbo Tax for not only my return but also my 2 adult children. It is so easy to use and it walks you through every category of income and deductions to make sure you don't miss any details. Does the filing of the return as well not only Federal but any state returns also. The only way to do taxes!!
What's great about it: easy to use, covers all areas and includes any carry forward balances
What's not so great: No Amazon Gift card option for refunds this year :(

Need more automation
on February 16, 2016

In general this is a very good program, but there still are aspects that remain frustrating. Two that come to mind are:
1.) There are still several places where the program asks me to refer to last year's return to populate a field. It is in your program!! Can't these data points be automatically extracted?? Any place this question arises, should be a red flag that there is an improvement opportunity.
2.) One Schedule A, Line 23 deduction item that I must always remember to update manually is the "Investment Advisory Fees" expense, because it is not covered in the TurboTax review.
Fix these, and 5-Stars are highly likely.
What's great about it: Very good product that I have been using for YEARS!!
What's not so great: Still needs more automation!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

More cost

Not only have you raised the price but you have moved items that were in Deluxe up to the Premier. On the free file if you have any little thing but W-2 you can not use. Students are often paid with a 1099-misc this is causing them to buy TurboTax and not be able to use free when there income is so little.
What's great about it: Easy to us.
What's not so great: Cost
