2015 Premier Review

To be honest, my comfort level is pretty low. I hope I don't have issues with the IRS. The flow of the Q&A was difficult to follow and I found myself revisiting the same forms over again to revise or check numbers. At one point, I considered doing all of the calculations manually because my trust level was so low.
What's great about it: Inexpensive
What's not so great: Difficult to follow the flow. Some forms didn't seem right

Make sure you Review

Make sure you review your return. We have a rental unit that we rented out for a few days last year. The program clearly states not to enter your rental real estate taxes or mortgage interest on Schedule A...Enter it on Schedule E and the program will allocate the personal portion over to Schedule A. It didn't and I didn't need any of the taxes or interest to wipe out the income....I finally, after many tries, got the taxes to work but the interest never did even though on the worksheet, the allocations were correct.
I also went on extension through IRS direct and paid in money. Even though the program reflected in the questions how much my payment with extension was, it didn't show up in my total taxes paid in. Had I not caught it, I would have paid too much upon filing. Have never had issues before....the schedule E was a pain. I must have filled it out 10 times trying to get it to work

What's great about it: Ease of input...covers all possibilites
What's not so great: Had a problem with rental/personl interest and taxes

Desktop version is poor quality

Your desktop version of the application has regressed yearly as you've promoted your online service. The ability to save your return to a removable hard drive is almost impossible.

Great Service

Very easy software to use and love the simplicity and walking me through everything. Very helpful team. In the past, I have not had to call in (it's so simple), but this year was different as my ID was compromised. This created additional wrinkles and hurdles, but the team at TT was extremely helpful, courteous, and understanding. Huge shout out to them!
What's great about it: Love how helpful the team has been in assisting me with the implications of ID Theft on my TT account
Pros: I bought or sold investments, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

couldn't file. program error with security pin

Comprehensive program that understands all details. Unfortunately, IRS PIN is 6 digits, and they Intuit erroneously limits the field to 5. So for the first time in years, I must print 28 pages and go to the post office. What a disappointment.

Gets more complicated every year

No reasons available for choices in RMD categories.
Forms would not print. Had to save and then print from the saved document. No addresses available for mailing returns.

Extra Fees Annoying
