very helpful software

need more tax advice regarding investment properties. Could not get credit for renovations done to complete a restoration of a home to convert it to a rental property. There was little help in determining the best approach to maximize this year's return while including a new investment property and renovation costs- very disappointing.
What's great about it: simplicity and copious information
What's not so great: advice in dealing with investment property

last year was not a good year for turbotax but this year is back to their top-notch standards. been using TT for 10 years; this is the best version EVER.
What's great about it: more complete; smoothert; easier to use.

This is the best yet. It walks you through everything it did before and now it looks at even more places to give you the best chance of making a complete correct return to maximize your return.
What's great about it: easiest yet, most comprehensive yet

Great but E-filing never works

I have been using Turbo Tax for years now and always notice the box states their is 5 free Federal e-filing and 1 free State e-file. For some reason i have never had any issues e-filing my federal return but can never get the 1 free state return. For this reason i rated it a 3 star rather then 5 stars.
What's great about it: Fast easy and accurate if you keep good records
What's not so great: Could be time consuming to understand all the questions

I am a committed Turbo Tax user. It is very intuitive and walks the filer through the process nicely. The help is excellent and informative. I find using this software helps me plan moves with investment and rental income, so it keeps me reasonably up to speed, but without all the manual process headaches.
My only complaint is I purchased Turbo Tax 2014 on line. The download put it in a different place than I am used to. I was unable to retrieve files as in past years and think I erased my 2014 file trying to find it on line. I think there may be some improvements for on-line purchases. I will purchase this in the store with a CD Rom until this gets better.
What's great about it: Very intuitive and the help is excellent. I have been using Turbo Tax for over a decade and it is fantastic.
What's not so great: Purchased 2014 on-line last year and 2015 in-store would not fine 2014 returns.

Get's better year after year

Turbotax saved me lot of hours having to go through all publications, forms, etc.
The program is getting better and better with each year. I had to fill in myself only 2 tax forms, everything else was imported by turbotax once I gave it my login infos. This saves a ton of time.
All the questions are very detailed, but include a link to relevant instructions, so you can decide easily if the specific situation applies to you or not.
Overall, this product is great and I intend to keep using it for my future returns!
What's great about it: Automatically imported most of my tax forms
What's not so great: Not enough financial institutions supported for importing tax information

A bit dismayed again......

Now it won't accept my document show that it will charge me for my state file
What's great about it: Esat to navigate the entire process
What's not so great: Is trying to charge me for a state file on my "premier" file method.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
