2015 Updater Failures Forced Manual Downloads
on February 15, 2016
Posted by: UpdateChallenge
When I customer reports automated downloads are not working, I would have expected one of the manual updates applies over several months of time to correct this issue. This never happened.
What's great about it: Once Manual Downloaded Worked As Expected
What's not so great: Manual Downloads & Hours On Support For State Manual Download

Clear and all-inconclusive
on February 15, 2016

I feel confident that when I have included all of my information, the tax form will be generated to the satisfaction of the government. I also feel it will be accurate, with me paying what is due and saving what I can.
What's great about it: Gives lots of choices. Explains everything.
What's not so great: It is still a chore, although made easier.

the best way to go

Turbo Tax helps make the best of a bad situation. Our tax code is ridiculous and Tubo Tax helps to navigate us through all the potholes and loopholes
What's great about it: excellent help and overviews
What's not so great: still can improve on the wording and clarity of questions

2015 Review
on February 15, 2016
Posted by: Jim5011
Using Turbo tax, as always, shortens my tax preparation requirements. The one area, for my taxes, that could use improvement is the explanation on why or why not the obamacare compliant tax penalty is due (I buy short term non-compliant health care insurance). in my case the tax penalty was waived because 8.5% of my AGI was below Bronze level cost for my family. I had to look this up separately. (I paid a penalty last year because my AGI was above the required level).
What's great about it: As usual, made the process easy and straight forward
What's not so great: A better explanation of health care compliance is needed

Llots of trouble this year
on February 15, 2016

Lots of trouble this year: 1- Statutory employee status, autofilled Turbotax forms which Turbotax would then not accept, and could not be fixed, resulting in mail filing 2-Ohio State tax self-employed business form autofilled by TurboTax, but Ohio would not accept. Resulted in having to file by mail. 3, Ohio forms cannot be filed by mail because forms are not finalized, and can;t be accepted by Ohio. 4. Nothing in Turbotax to tell you how to handle #3 VERY FRUSTRATED THIS TEAR
What's great about it: my 10th year--always keep coming back
What's not so great: internal errors in Turbotax
