Turbo Tax Relax
on February 14, 2016

Works almost like a charm. Just wish they could ask even less questions and still maximize your return. Specifically, I don't know why I keep going through their itemized deductions only to once again just file the standard deductions. Seems they could provide a dummy proof guide at the start telling a person don't bother with itemizing unless you think you had more than xxx dollars beyond the standard deduction. Anyway, I highly recommend the program and have been a happy user for 5 years running.
What's great about it: Click, Click, Submit, Even better if you are a repeat customer
What's not so great: Some glitch with paying with credit card for state file through turbo tax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Return done

Turbo Tax is easy step by step so nothing is missed. If errors are found, takes you to the actual form for entry. That is a little hard as you have to read through and determine what screen was not correct.
What's great about it: easy step by step
What's not so great: if errors found, a little harder to figure out
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Getting easier
on February 14, 2016
Posted by: Gomesjmg
Turbo Tax gets easier to use each year but still has a flaw when it comes to filing a 1040EZ. All the same questions have to be answered when you are just completing a simple return. This could be made easier by asking some key questions at the beginning of the interview process, which would direct you through the appropriate questions....and 1040 form.
What's great about it: Love the transfer capability and carry-forward from previous years.
What's not so great: Based on income level and a high level view of expenses, you should be taken to the appropriate tax return

I can relax by using TurboTax.

I was more pleased with the 2015 Turbo Tax version and my only confusion was why I chose a manual five digit number for e-file pin and then I had to go to the IRS to get a different pin number.
Other than this, it was very straight-forward and easy to go through this year.
What's great about it: It leads me through the return step by step.
What's not so great: I don't think getting the e-file pin is very clear. At first, it says choose any number then you have to go to the IRS

tedious if you sold employee stock
on February 14, 2016

I sold employee stock this tax year...there was a LOT of repetitive key entry that I feel could have been programmed to fill in the next screen...this may just be for employee sold stock shares but that is what applied to me. Not sure if it would be as tedious on other tax return prep software b/c I've been loyal to turbo tax and only used turbo tax for as far back as I can recall. This was my first year entering an employee stock sale. My stock sale included about 20 separate entries and a lot of that same info had to be keyed in over and over on additional screens that I feel could have been transferred to the next screen once it was entered the first time...
What's great about it: i like that it imports from prior years
What's not so great: I did not like all the extra repetitive key entry details for sale of stock
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Excellent Tax Preparation

Turbo tax is an excellent product. It is even more valuable when you use it multiple years because it imports all of your standard data and gives you a clear comparison of prior year.
What's great about it: Easy to use - Clear Directions - Web Answers
What's not so great: Cost keeps going up
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
