When working on real estate for example, it asks you the question if you are a real estate agent. Once the question is answered I must answer the same group of questions every time I add information in the rental screens. I have several real estate properties but I must answer the same questions over and over each time I enter the real estate section.
What's not so great: Must check the same screen over and over

Great Product

I have used TurboTax for over 10 years. I like how it guides through every step with help hints along the way. To be able to complete the federal, state and e-file with no extra effort is really great. I love, love TurboTax. Can't imagine doing taxes without it.
What's great about it: Detailed; easy to use and understand.

Great product, but I want more

I've been using Turbo Tax since the 90s. Needless to say, I'm a fan. I like how they give you the option to have the system guide you through each step or you can just jump to relevant topics if you know what you're doing.
My one complaint is the feature for net operating losses and carryforwards. You have to calculate them BY HAND using form 1045, Schedule A and then insert the number in the software. Also there is no AMT NOL feature either. These should be added to the premier or business versions so we can avoid manual calculations and the resulting mistakes/amendments that come with them.

the 8889 is difficult and does not flow, same with foreign tax.
What's great about it: easystep is pretty good

It's good, but my husband and I have a complex financial situation, and at this point, I"m just tired.
What's great about it: pretty complete. I especially like being able to switch from step-by-step to forms
What's not so great: I'd like more support for foreign income & taxes

Reliable tax filing software!

I have used TurboTax for years. Working on tax return is the last thing I want to do but TurboTax has made it easy for me. If there are still people trying to calculate by hands and filing on papers, please don't waste your time. It is worthwhile to spend the money for this software and saves you a lot of headache and time, unless you have very simple, single income without much deductible items to work on.
What's great about it: Took care of my income tax, rental properties, and home business.
What's not so great: Not really.

Difficulty with non standard forms

I needed more information on other forms and couldn't find the forms. If I entered something, either something I wanted to change or delete completely it was difficult. I had to file an extension, you didn't mention what to do about state.
What's great about it: Easy to use if everything goes well.
What's not so great: Non standard forms, making changes or additions.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
