This year, I had the best experience with Turbo Tax ever!!! Used Premier. Simple, clear, concise, and most of all comprehensive. Very easy to navigate. Could be named TT for Dummies, Really!!!
Have fun making money!!!

What's great about it: Easy to navigate. E-filing is Super Fast.
What's not so great: I can't think of a negative except for the registration section and sharing where I purchased it.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have used Turbo Tax now for several years and find it easier each year because it always shows me what I did last year. Better than doing taxes manually as I did for so long.
What's great about it: Love using Turbo Tax...rmembers me from last year and walks me through each area of the tax nightmare.
What's not so great: No real negatives

Tax Doable

I am an avid user of TurboTax, I will not use any other tax software or company to file my taxes, the convenience of completing when time is conducive, error check, audit check, guided walkthrough of expenses and deductions are primary reasons that I prefer to use Turbo Tax.
After explaining the ease of use to my parents, they purchased and completed their taxes on the same day, and now they swear by Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Cost effective, Self explanatory, Guided step by step process. Error check and e-Filing

Another positive experience

Better recognition of federal employees with non-taxed portions under the old pension plan.
After proceeding through the entire Self-Employment EasyStep series, surprised to not being guided about contributing to a IRA SEP. Had to search through Lists to find how to do that. Then, there is a problem in handling health care costs. I first entered these from a 1099-R form and then said I was attributing that payment to being self-employed. However, that ends up doubling the amount reported on Schedule A!
In the SEP Easy-Step section, the computation of the maximum allowable considers only the routine expenses, specifically ignoring health care costs. Selecting the maximum SEP contribution computed by TurboTax results in a warning (a good thing) later on that I could not use the health care costs and that it had been removed. However, the warning did not say on what form this was done. It was also hard to tell how the deletion by TurboTax might impact any other forms.
What's great about it: EasyStep is easy
What's not so great: Self-Employed section faulty

Improved over last year.

I had an issue with turbotax transferring and changing my military pension information into my 2015 Oregon return. I had 4 years of active service in the 70's and retired from the reserves in 1998. Oregon allows the use of dates or retirement points in computing their reduction of federal pension income. TurboTax transferred the dates from my 2014 return and counted the months which reduced my reduction percentage. My retirement points record was front end loaded due to my active service over the time I served. The method turbotax uses works fine for regular federal or active duty military retirees but NOT for reserve retirees whose retirement is based on retirement points. I realize this is an Oregon only issue but it causes those affected to over pay on their Oregon state taxes.
What's great about it: Data entry was improved for oil royalties to elimiate double entries
What's not so great: Oregon fed military pension info not transferred correctly
