Easy to do

I have always used a Certified CPA to do my taxes since I had income from several different areas. Last year his rate got extremely high so I figured I would do it myself if I had a comfortable feeling. Turbo tax gave me that feeling.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: none yet?

We have been using Turbo tax for years and have been very pleased overall. It is easy to carry everything forward year by year. Customer Service has always been able to answer all our questions.
What's great about it: Walks you through each area with an interview that is easy to understand
What's not so great: Sometimes, when you realize you have left something out, it is hard to go back and find the exact place in the interview

Time consuming downloads and upgrades.
Upgrades unidentified by computer Defender security.
Without state tax liability, Turbo Tax printed out South Carolina state tax form when taxpayer resident is Florida.
Software is getting more expense but more harder to use than in prior years.

What's great about it: Some from other nonqualified users.
What's not so great: Tedious ways of obtaining information without additional cost.

Consistently Good

I've used TurboTax for many years and appreciate the difficulty of managing the process yet making it approachable.
I have a small self-employed operation and making sure to access all aspects of the Tax Code to best advantage can be a challenge.
You still need to understand the outlines of the Code, but TurboTax provides a decent guideline to assist the process.

What's great about it: Flow control and general applicabilityn to needs is good
What's not so great: tracking entries across multiple forms is not laid out well to the User

Usual quick return

I've been using turbotax for 10+ years now. I like it. It helps get through a lot of the confusing reading of tax code trying to figure out what to fill in each and every form. My biggest issue is for carryover. It's always asking me if there is carryover from the previous year. If I did my previous year's taxes in turbotax, and it pulled in that information, shouldn't it KNOW? Why does it always ask me? I don't know what to answer, or where I'm supposed to be looking -- that's why I use the software.
Otherwise, I like the program and it helps me get taxes done quickly.
A small antidote: one year I went to a professional preparer because I had some questions about how some special circumstances should be handled. After the professional explained it to me, I then went to turbotax with the information. Turbotax helped me go back to the professional with better numbers to get a better return.

Love this software

been using for 14 years. Great product
What's great about it: Easy to use. Asks lots of questions to get me a max refund. helped with Adoption Credit
What's not so great: Doesn't always auto populate if I put a "0" or "no" to an answer
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I had a baby

The Best Tax Software

I have used TurboTax for 5 years. I tried other programs, but TurboTax was by far the best and saved me money.
