TurboTax you are good but...

Turbotax would be an excellent software, even at a higher cost if the user could click on the area of the input screen and let you see where the numbers are in the IRS form.
What's great about it: I have use Turbotax since the 1990's great record keeping
What's not so great: Very difficult to understand how the input screens relate to the actual IRS forms
Pros: I bought or sold investments, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Very helpful- easy to use. I would recommend this to almost anyone. The program's reputation is excellent and has not failed me yet. I file with confidence with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easy to use- does all the thinking for you
What's not so great: Can't think of any right now

little faults,mainly irritations.printing problems

The error check found 32 errors. All but two were failure to enter a zero amount or carry an entry from the interview to the final forms.
I'm not sure why form 8949 needed to be printed and mailed. Makes no sense! Even worse all the line entries are garbled when printed. the totals at the bottom of the page are correct and the PDF looks good on screen (it doesn't print correctly either).
What's great about it: BETTER THAN THE COMPETITORS
What's not so great: little faults that don't transfer data , printing problems
Pros: I bought or sold investments

No Form 1065
Personal income summary showed $12,000 in interest income even though it was less than $2 entered.

1) had a problem transferring 2013 files into the 2014 program 2) It is a real pain when you want to check back on or change a data point in some of the subroutines - the program makes you input all of your answers over again. 3) Other than these issues - it is a great program and generally intuitive.
What's great about it: Generally easy to follow
What's not so great: 1) makes you go through the input process again on some parts if you want to go back and check or change some data

Turbo Tax 2015
on October 17, 2016

There was not many ways to follow along and understand where some numbers came from. I was forced to do a 1040 form and some numbers were increased that I had no idea where they came from and no way to go back and see where my answers caused these numbers to appear.
What's great about it: Quick to fill in blanks that may go on different forms only once
What's not so great: Not very flexible; upon entering address for non-state income tax still needed me to choose
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's great about it: accepted by fed and state
What's not so great: not that easy to make changes, HI state requires state business ID when there is no business in the state, can't e-file
