Using Turbo Tax for longer thank I can remember

If you are not using Turbo Tax you are not in control of your taxes.
What's great about it: Help is great the program gets easier and easier each year.
What's not so great: Do not like having to answer the same questions over and over to to jump to a section of the form you want to correct

Works...Mostly

I had a new-to-me situation this year - approx. 6 months in a home I owned with 2 Schedule C businesses sharing a home office deduction, and then rented out that home for the rest of the year. Turbo Tax was correctly split the Mortgage Interest and RE taxes I paid between the rental deductions on Schedule E and personal deductions on Sched A. However, it was not removing the mortgage interest claimed in the home offices from the personal allocation claimed on Sched A, (though it did for the RE taxes!) So in essence, I was claiming that amount twice. It also took me forever to figure out what was wrong as the interview asks you for Biz info before Rental info, so at first I was double claiming everything! I had to speak to help 3 times, and even with my spreadsheets and knowing exactly what was wrong, it was tough to figure out how to make it work. But the 3rd time was the charm, and each person I spoke with was really fantastic.
I have used Turbo tax for a long time and I happen to be a bookkeeper, so I know how to check the return to make sure the amounts showing are what I expect to see, but without my work experience, I might have looked right past it. The interview used to have specific help on each page regarding what was being asked on that page, but that was removed in a number of places, and I think that was a mistake. Some questions are unclear or confusing, so don't be shy about using the forum for help...but start early!
What's great about it: Help from Tax Prof. was pretty terrific
What's not so great: have to have good deal of knowledge about taxes if you have anything complicated

Must be an error in file transmitting bad image, not printer issue.
What's great about it: Printed multiple copies.
What's not so great: Each Copy has same streaks on some pages.

smart check needs to be more detailed on what it requires for repair of return its to vaque and shortcuts right to the required form to fix would be great otherwise good product

Solid but features change

Solid program that helps takes you through tax preparation.
However, over the years, they have removed some functionality and require you to buy the upgraded versions.
The biggest loss is that they have reduced the printing and saving options. You used to be able to print the filed form and then separately all the forms and worksheets. You are no longer given these options when you finish and have to go back into the program and print.
You also used to be able to save a working copy with the program and burn it to a CD - was great backup to be able to go in and see what the entries were in the future and give you a different archival medium in case your hard drive crashed. Now, the only option is to print the forms to PDF.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
What's not so great: Keep changing what is included (ie, have to pay upgrade) and no longer has good save functions

Have used for many years and could not possibly complete the tax filing without assistance from the software.
What's great about it: Interface, keeping track of what's needed for tax preparation
What's not so great: Miss a cross-reference to actual Forms/Lines in Interview

Easy to go through and much improved navigation. I am a long time user and this is the best version yet.
What's great about it: State Tax much improved and simple
What's not so great: Filing for K-1 is still a mystery
