Done at Last!

TurboTax has on-line helps and explanations of more obscure requirements, and links to IRS Pubs for more detailed review of IRS rules.
What's great about it: On-line helps, can enter any part at any time- no need to sort tax papers beforehand
What's not so great: For volunteer travel to multiple different destinations, each must be entered individually

Makes it simple, even tho tax filing remains a worrysome task. I have been using TT for 30 years, since a CPA friend recommended it in soon after it came out.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: Few

Had no idea it would be this painless! Naturally I have too many papers and couldn't locate the documents needed UNTIL I checked online! Mortgage interest and other documents were easy to include. THANKS!!

Too many disconnected items

Turbo Tax was always intuitive and easy to walk through. This version, however, had some barriers to that easiness. For example, it was difficult to find mileage expense for a car used in business that is also a family car. Even the [Help] was not helpful. And there were others, where it took a lot of searching. The intuitiveness was lost.

Need better confirmation of completion of e-filing

I went through all of the steps for e-filing my Federal and State Returns, and paying for the small amounts I owed, but I cannot get a positive reply when I check the status. This leaves me in limbo. I have checked through all of the steps three times for both filing and paying, but it still responds that I haven't. What do I do now? This is very annoying. I realize that the Feds still have to accept the filing, but Turbo Tax should be able to at least let me know that I have completed all of the required steps, or tell me what to do next.
What's great about it: Most of the instructions are easy to follow.
What's not so great: Positive determination of when the Federal and State Income Tax Returns have been filed.

Amazing!!

Before using Turbotax, I went to a CPA firm to file my returns. They just filed based on the information provided by me,but didn't find or suggest the different ways how to save money. Also they charge huge amount for their service to basic filing. When I switched to turbotax 5 years ago, it was a great experience. It walk me through each steps and find ways to save money. From then on I only use turbotax for filing my returns. Wonderful software.
What's great about it: It gave me peace of mind and helped to get a maximum refund possible.
What's not so great: Nothing at this time.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
