I'm not an accountant/CPA. Just an average guy with lots and lots of detailed items in a very complicated return - sold a house, have rental property, two businesses, and retired. TurboTax got me through it in record time.

Yes, I like it, now over 10 years. Has become a bit cumbersome over the years, because of the tax laws. Most the time good prompts, but sometime (especially for new features) I would like a Help screen to prompt if I need more explanation.

What's not so great: Possible to enter deductions more than once, directions not specific enough

Very supportive personally and professional

Having a home office the process gives me comfort that I will not miss anything important to my filing. Over the years the ability to gather information from previous year's filing has speeded up the following year's filing.
What's great about it: Guidance is very thorough and 99% clear.
What's not so great: I wanted to go back to a specific location and in some instances had to rework the whole process instead.

Unexpected refund

I feel quite confident this was an accurate determination of my 2015 taxes. I'm much more confident than when I hired an accountant to do it for me.
What's great about it: Very intuitive
What's not so great: Lots of hand typing that I would love to not have to do

Poor implementation of Arizona Form 140PTC

Found errors on Arizona Form 140PTC:
Part 1 line D ported the value from IRS 140 Income line 13 which originates on Schedule D line 21 which deals with capital gains not real property. Form 140PTC is Property Tax Refund (Credit) Claim form. Another error on the same form is that line 15 is ported back to the 140 form line 56. The total credit on line 19 should be ported to form 140 line 56. In my case this would represent a $50.00 loss. In addition this form requires supporting documentation be included with the return. It would be appropriate for the File by Mail Instructions page to include these requirements. So much for quality control...

What's great about it: Overall TurboTax does and adequate job.
What's not so great: Some lesser used forms are not completely verified and thought through.
