Very Thorough

All in all this is a very good product and relatively easy to use. I ran into a problem after the import from itsdeductible because it created a new donation that I couldn't figure out where it came from and it wouldn't let me get rid of it. Also, it questioned an amount (probably because it was a high number) and asked for a basis without telling me what the problem was. I changed the quality from 'high' to 'medium' and that seemed to solve the problem but it never did explain what the issue was. These were quilts and it was asking me for a cost basis.
That said, I have used the product for many years and expect to continue doing so. It really makes it easy.

What's great about it: Quick & excellent calculations
What's not so great: Some of the terms needed some explanation or buttons to look up.

I think it should be easier to go back and check specific details - such as medical deductions (Rx and doctors)
What's great about it: The walk through is great and easy to comprehend.
What's not so great: I was confused about whether I had entered certain categories and couldn't go back and clarify that I had or hadn't done

Errors in software

Line 21 - Other Income does not allow the appropriate required description of "other income". Your software pre-fills Other Income from Box 3 which does not meet the IRS rules of describing the income.

Trade tax for software nightmares. Worth it.

For complex tax situations, this software will almost get you there, but don't expect an easy trip. It runs out of gas in states, and don't expect a friendly stranger to help you. If you ask for help in the online community, you generally find others with the same question rather than someone with the answer. And there is really no one else to ask... It is like travelling in a fancy car that needs new shocks and a tune up.
My taxes are terrible, and this system does make things much better, but it does not replace an expert, nor does it even point you in the right direction if you have a question. The interview process is fine, but repetitive if you need to go back to a place. The bugs I run into are generally in what I view as obscure regions of things taxable. Once upon a time you could get to IRS documentation when you had a question via the software, but now you need to do that on your own.
What's great about it: Comprehensive. Calculates, Organizes.
What's not so great: Buggy. help. Leaves you hanging in the states.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

relatively easy BUT NOT WITHOUT FLAWS

I have used turbo tax for about 3 years. I have a complex return but this program makes it easy.
It is not without flaws!!!
In 2014 the program did not include all the forms require by the state of Georgia causing the state to disallow my deductions without a further audit. I lost about $1,400 that was to be refunded to due the fact I did not have the time to furnish ALL proof to the state.
Also for 2015, the online program I have use would not transfer my information from the previous years taxes, forcing me to download the program and prohibited me from doing it online without reentering all my information which was a lot!!

I think it would really helpful to allow what ifs as part of doing the taxes or even as a side application. What if I were married, What if I sold a stock.
