A couple years ago I learned the hard way that PDF files are useful only for printing, not transferring data! Altho TT now explains this it is still confusing at the end when trying to save your file for data transfer the following year.
I also got a bit confused when going BACK to enter more data I overlooked, such as 1079 assets.
HOWEVER, TT does make it possible to do my own taxes for both business and personal. The challenge next year will be family trust issues and inheritances resulting in capital gains etc., new territory for me! But I do have MUCH faith in TT.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: Printng documents is confusing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Satisfied Taxpayer

The US government directly encourages small business ownership, yet the IRS uses the unwieldy 1120 to calculate taxes on all corporations and businesses ~ large and small.
Could you at Intuit add form 1120 and its attachments to your business version of Turbo Tax? Or, create a separate tax prep product designed for business entities that need to file form 1120?
What's great about it: easy to use, complete for what it does
What's not so great: does not include IRS Form 1120
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Getting more difficult every year
on September 13, 2016

While the tax code continues to get more complicated, turbo tax attempts to simplify it for the end user. While most of what I have done on turbo tax is explainable, some of the Schedule C information I have had to talk to a tax accountant about to get it straight.
Some notices about what will be excluded, such as Rental expenses when you reach 150k income would have been nice.
What's great about it: step by step
What's not so great: some content difficult to understand

Generally Very Good - Just One Problem

I use TurboTax, and will continue to do so. But it is never easy for me to figure out where to enter our 1099-MISC's for some farm rental income that we get. That is my only complaint. Ask one of your employees who does not know your software that well to try to find it. Seriously. Otherwise, I am very pleased with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Your instructions are very readable; costs a lot less than an accountant.
What's not so great: It is not easy to figure out where "Farm Rental Income" is to be entered.

I really have no complaints about the product. The only compelling reason not to use TurboTax is the cost.
What's great about it: Very easy to use especially when used year over year.
What's not so great: price
Pros: I moved

The IRS is very straight forward with what is required but I feel that this program allows for too much quess work.
What's great about it: Fairly User Friendly
What's not so great: Very drawn out
Pros: I moved

Make the GO-BACK process easier.

There is no apparent way to make a TT modification of a prior year's return and then have Turbo Tax just do a recalculation (based on just the difference between the Before TT input file and the After TT input file) to the subsequent years. Instead, we are forced to re-enter all of the info that we previously entered in the subsequent years. So if the IRS disallows something 2 years ago, we have to START OVER to update the later years.
The Topics List SHOW ALL command usually still results in a truncated list, forcing us to jump through hoops to get back to where we want to go.
If you go back using the Question / Answer feature, there is no indication of how you answered previously, so you lose the benefit of previous correct choices.
What's great about it: Don't have to worry about the math.
What's not so great: GO BACK = START OVER

There is no such thing as Illinois AGI

There is no such thing as Illinois AGI, but that is an identifier requested for e-filing. I picked the wrong one, and e-file was rejected as requested. I was told to correct the info and refile, but tthere was no screen allowing a change of the Illinois AGI when I refiled. Second fileing will be rejected, too. I am flumoxed.
What's great about it: Federal e--filing was a snap. I used the disk based version, and I love being able to see the fomrs.
What's not so great: It would be so very helpful if the federal version alphebetized charitable contrib.. Form list OK but not print order
