More detailed explanations for the "weird" stuff: in my case (last year) it took a long time to figure out how to deal with excessive Roth deposits.
What's great about it: Logical & Userfriendly
What's not so great: Better searching mechanisms needed.

TURBO TAX 2016

IVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX SINCE 2013 AND I LOVE IT! I CAN FILE FROM MY HOUSE AND THEY REALLY DO A GREAT JOB MAXIMIZING MY RETURN. I ALWAYS OWED MONEY BEFORE I FOUND TURBO TAX. I HAVEN'T OWED MONEY ON MY TAXES SINCE!
THIS YEAR I CAN SAY IT WAS A LITTLE MORE DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE BUT IT WAS STILL RELATIVELY EASY.

Turbo Tax

We have been using Turbo Tax for several years and it has helped us to understand about deductions and donations and how it all fits into the tax system. This year I ran into problems and used the phone help section of Turbo Tax and the technicians were very helpful. I had a few unique situations within our business this year and thought maybe we would have to give our taxes to an accountant, but the technicians were able to help me with our problems. I just wish they had more flexible hours, either later in the day or on the weekend.
What's great about it: great way to stay on top of your own small business
What's not so great: sometimes turbo tax does not cater to each unique situation
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

ALL IN ALL A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE, BUT NOW I HAVE TO RUN IT BY MY PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNT TO GET HIS TAKE ON DEDUCTIONS CONTINUED FROM THE PRIOR YEAR. NOT AT ALL CLEAR.
What's great about it: MOVED ALONG AT A GOOD PACE.
What's not so great: UNCLEAR AS TO HOLD-OVER CATEGORY DEDUCTIONS

Not useful for tricky tax situations

Aside from the annoying program crashes, the most annoying glitch I've encountered with TurboTax this year is that it will not allow you to type NRA (Non-Resident Alien) for a spouse who lives overseas. This meant I had to print and manually white out changes then physically mail them in--which is besides the point! I buy Turbotax to be paperless, otherwise I would use an accountant.
What's great about it: Good if you have a simple return
What's not so great: Fairly useless if you have an overseas partner
Pros: I had a baby, I bought or sold investments
