Easy Peasy!

Turbo Tax is pretty easy to use, even for relative newbies =)
What's great about it: Easy to use, and provides answers to questions
What's not so great: Taxes are so complicated =/
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Make MS return easier

Payer ID and amount paid are entered in Federal information but are not transferred to Form 80-107 MS income schedule. It is a pain to have to enter it twice.
What's great about it: Federal good
What's not so great: MS required entering a lot of data already entered for federal return.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Return keeps getting more and more complicated each year. Ease of entry very good. Assurance of accuracy appreciated.
Have been using it each year for many years, without it I am far from confident I would get the task completed. This year the return as fled was 77 pages

The software seemed to be more difficult to navigate than past years. K forms do not have the same boxes as the federal forms.
Why does the State of Idaho advertise that e file is free yet I am charged by you
What's not so great: more difficult than previous. Some forms not the same as IRS

Certain forms not filed

Although I filled out a Form 8962 in TurboTax, it was not filed with my tax return. This has resulted in an audit. When I switch to the Forms view in TurboTax, I can view the 8962 form, but can not print it out to send to the IRS. To comply with their directions, I must how fill out a manual 8962 form and send it to them.
What's great about it: Have used TurboTax for 10 years
What's not so great: Current version doesn't work

Excellent software

I love and have used TurboTax for many years. I absolutely love it for the Federal return.
But the Montana return ~ not so much. It has a lot of the same features as the Federal. Except that every time you back out to make an edit, it takes you back to the VERY BEGINNING of state the return, not to where you left off; in additional it doesn't hold onto all the information you have already input, making it even more frustrating. There are also a lot of fields that are not brought in from the previous year's returns, increasing the work load because you have to find the prior year's return for a lot of the information.
With it's ability to import from prior year Federal returns, why not all the MT info as well?
