Very Frustrating

Was preparing return for my son, who lives in England, all income foreign earned income, with foreign taxes paid. Extremely frustrated that the worksheet for figuring the Foreign Earned Income Tax Credit was wrong. It kept including the 2555 income in the total income, which doubled the total income. I spent hours on this issue, until I finally figured out that I had to override the entry for 2555 income on this worksheet. Only then, could I see the correct total income reflected. Hours of frustration!!!! I am not a happy user this year!
Also, it is not possible to enter NonResident Alien in for spouse who lives in England and does not have a social security number.
I had to print out the form, hand write in NRA, and then mail the form to the IRS. This is not user friendly for people who have special situations!

What's great about it: Able to carry over info from last year

Long Time User

I like the way TTax carries information over from one year to the next. I don't like the way it changes from year to year - not always for the better. For example hovering the mouse over a topic gave explanations, links to forms, and the ability to jump back and forth. I don't find that now.
I think the program wastes a ton of paper when printing. I'd like the option to just print what goes in the envelope and a copy of that and to keep ALL the other stuff as an auxiliary .pdf file. ALL the other stuff is a lot of pages.
What's great about it: Transfers Stuff from Previous Years
What's not so great: Confusing - but that's because of the tax system, not TurboTax

Tax return completed with Turbo Tax

It seems the price of the software should include electronic filing of both Federal and State. I am a retired CPA and I never incurred any additional costs of electronically filing my clients state returns.
What's great about it: Works fine
What's not so great: Why an extra fee to electronically file my state return?

It was just too easy!

We had some complicated scenarios that TurboTax made easy.
I've used it every year since 2001 and I have the confidence that I can continue to use it.

What's great about it: I'm confident every year that I use TurboTax
What's not so great: A couple of the 1099-MISC showed up in personal instead of business & I accidently deleted them.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Makes life easier.

I have come to rely on this product completely for my tax returns because it allows me to understand, thus plan my tax structure.
What's great about it: Simple to understand & prompts you for answers. It has a very good "Help" feature if you don't understand.
What's not so great: None

They made Tax Filing Great Again!

Despite what most brick & mortar Tax preparers will say about Turbo Tax, I've found the service/software to be complete and very educational.
What's great about it: Customer support proved to be patient, precise, and U.S. based without any communication issues.
What's not so great: Customer Service off-peak season hours are not ideal for those outside the Pacific Time Zones.
