Great Software! Does Everything You Need it to Do!

great software for the small business person or someone that works for themselves as a free-lancer. It asks all the questions, and you fill in the blanks. Been using this software for years with great results.

Made it quick & easy!

I appreciate the expediency.
What's great about it: Explanations each step of the way!
What's not so great: Was not sure where to input expenses until I received the update!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Many time consuming problems with 2015 CD home and business. Have used TT for 10 years. At checkout TT gives you the option of saving as pdf file. DON'T do it. TT can't input pdf data into your next year's return. I found out the hard way this year. Had to recreate 2014 tax return by scratch.
TT doesn't tell you how to save it as a *.tax file, the only data it CAN input. So if you want to lose your data from last year, go ahead and select the "save as pdf file" option.
Also, the 2014 program incorrectly gave me depreciation on a business vehicle when it was FULLY depreciated the year before. So when I sold the vehicle this year, I had too much depreciation - TT wouldn't allow me to change the numbers and wouldn't let me complete my tax return due to their mistake. Two smart people at TT found an end run around this -- the only nice thing I can say about this 2015 experience.
My final complaint - there's no obvious way to get thru to the bosses at Turbo Tax with suggestions/complaints as to what needs improving. Just this public forum. Not the same thing.
What's great about it: one problem solved expertly by turbotax
What's not so great: TT can't carry over last years TT info

A Horrible Experience
on April 19, 2016

Worst experience with taxes ever, and I have been using Turbo Tax for four years now. Importing your Quicken and/or Quickbooks data is a black box. I have no idea what it is including, not including, how it is calculating amounts, etc...
And then I had to change something and in order to do that I had to delete a whole form and start over. Don't get me started on having to pay for State filing and then being told that I can't file electronically (hence needing to make changes).
Save your sanity and hire someone or look elsewhere for tax help.
What's great about it: Inexpensive
What's not so great: Not worth the hassle and frustration
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy & User Friendly
on April 19, 2016

Overall I would give this a 4 stars. It was very user friendly, easy and quick. The new question community was more informative than previous versions. However the one thing i didn't like about the new software would be the error fixing section. In the older version it would show the section of the forms that needed to be fixed. This version just starts the questions so you're not really sure which form you're fixing.
What's great about it: The system walked you right through everything you could think of.
What's not so great: When fixing errors you really didn't know what forms or section you were at when questions were asked.

Just Like the "Big-Mac".

I did try to "change my order" a little, by going on line, I was very disappointed. O line I finished my return back in mid Feb., I then tried to call it up in mid Mar., without success. So I went and purchased the Home & Business software at Sam's in Mid Mar. Redid my 2015 tax return.
For the third time in my life had to pay in!
The most I have ever had to pay!
Strange coincidence!
All went well from then on.
Thanks TURBO TAX.
What's great about it: Knew what I ordered, Knew what to expect and well satisfied!
What's not so great: Tried the on line version after 10+ years of CD. went back to try and find it,couldnt, went and bought the cd
