good program

its a good program but due to the rising cost of using it there are other programs out there just as good I will probably use next year instead
What's great about it: helps walk you thru everything

great software but could use a bit more tweaking

I like the running tab of refund amount. strange thing about it is that when it did the review, even though I had no errors, the amount of my refund changed by $4,000 dollars. And no matter what I did, I could not figure out where the money went or how to get it back. I wish that the program would see that I had W2 forms and put that info automatically into my schedule C forms. Instead I have to pull out my paperwork and look everything up. But all in all, I could not imagine having to do all of this by hand and have to write everything in. Filling out tax forms rates right up there with getting a root canal. But the ease of the program makes up for any slight inconvenience I may suffer. Thank you turbo tax. I have been using this program since it came out and will keep using it till I die.
What's great about it: Very easy to make W-2s for my employees. Did my taxes in less than two hours
What's not so great: While doing my taxes it showed my refund to be one amount but when it reviewed my info, the amount changed drastically.

Love Turbo Tax

Love the support and customer service. The product is great and easy to understand and use. I recommended to friends and family. I have been using for more than 10 years. The updates are fast and accurate with the new laws.
What's great about it: esay to use and reliable product
What's not so great: had to pay back but fair is fair

Worth the help!

I like Turbo Tax but there are a few times it doesn't explain your options fully. You are left needing to look up what it is talking about or left to guess. People also seem to have a hard time navigating within it too...I help answer some of the questions on the Community Answer site and perhaps a short navigation video would help...showing the features instead of making you find out what the "Forms" icon does, or that there are tabs at the top of your screen that you can use to go to a certain area of your return.
What's great about it: Fills out all the forms you need! Does the calculations!
What's not so great: Sometimes doesn't explain words fully...asks if you want to do something but doesn't help you understand what that is...

Caught a big data entry error that saved a penaty

Caught a data entry error by noticing that sate and city withholding matching on one of the W-2s
What's great about it: Easy to use; comprehensive
What's not so great: Expensive relative to an a tax professional
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Blocked at the last minute

I got the error: Check This Entry. Sch K-1 Wks-Partnerships -- Sch K-1 Partnership Additional Info 1: Foreign Tax Code C Line 2 col 3 is listed but no foreign source income at individual level has been listed on the K-1 Additional Information worksheet line 1.
Foreign Tax Code C Line 2 col 3 "0."
Here, I have inserted "0", but the only accepted value is blank. TurboTax should be smart enough to evaluate "0" as blank and not stop me from filing my return. Or if I wish to file with the erroroneous 0 value, this should be allowed. Even when I went back and removed box 16, I still got this error. TurboTax should remove all worksheet entries if the box is removed. Overall, this "smart" check was very frustrating.
What's not so great: Couldn't efile review due to "smart" error check
