fairly self explanatory

Mostly I liked using Turbo Tax. I have been filing very detailed deductions for many years, and was concerned that I would end up paying higher tax due to the inability of writing in some deductions in the 'other expenses' category. I wasn't able to include some deductions, therefore my tax liability was increased, but not as bad as I had expected.
What's great about it: easy to follow selections for deductions
What's not so great: couldn't figure how to deduct for depreciation of home, land, and utilities for office in the home

TURBO TAX IS THE B E S T !!!!!!!

I've used Turbo Tax since the 80's on the lil bitty disk and I still have the collection. Have used it EVERY YEAR and will continue till I can't read or press keyboard anymore.
Thanks Turbo Tax for all the GREAT YEARS of just being THE ALL AROUND BEST!!!!! BEFORE TT I HAD TO DO GOOD OLD 10 YEAR INCOME AVERAGING BY HAND.

Windows 10 NO HELP

Each year the Home & Business gets better. Known what can be deducted and where to put the deductions can be hard for a small business owner. But this year, TurboTax was working at a disadvantage in that Windows 10 decided to do an upgrade in the middle of tax season that slowed down the way that TT worked and the overall ease of working with TT. Every time I had a new calculation, or went to the next page, I had to retrieve TT from the task icon because the Windows 10 Desktop came up! I also ran into a section where if there had been math in the example it would have helped figured out what the IRS was asking for. This about the FMV Before and After the event of Theft or Destruction, was not clear if FMV at time after destruction or at time of replacement after destruction.
What's great about it: TurboTax keeps on helping to explain the different parts of the more diverse parts of the tax return.
What's not so great: Some of the examples needs to have math in them to better illustrate the results wanted.

The Labor's in the Prep Work!

Like painting, a good job of preparation makes the visible part of the task easy. 2015 was the year I changed from employee to business owner. Turbo Tax made the data entry easy and performed the background calculations, including a couple I wouldn't have anticipated.
I had to go back to add new info to business expenses, and was a little annoyed at having to go through all the info about my vehicle again.
I volunteer for several charities and track my volunteer mileage. TT seems to expect that all of that mileage is multiple repetitions of same-length trips. I'd prefer to simply enter my actual miles driven.
What's great about it: Very easy to enter data. TT took care of business owner requirements that were new to me.
What's not so great: Expecting that mileage for charity activity consists of x number of equal-distance trips.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
