Flagged items but could not figure out how to go back to review flagged items.
Tried to search within my file, but couldn't. Each time I tried to Search, I was searching online help.
Help is based on other users; what are we paying Turbo Tax for? Why are they (TurboTax) providing expert advice.

the IL state tax software didn't work very well. very confusing. wouldn't let me put a portion of my IL refund toward 2016 estimated taxes. gave me No option for this. also strangely: during the IL e-file process Turbo Tax ask me to enter "IL 1040 line 1a" which THERE IS NO LINE 1a!!!!! very confusing and almost messed up my return. very disappointed!
What's great about it: eh
What's not so great: cumbersome

I was going step-by-step. I did not skip any step. It did not warn me about an error in dependent's information. Later on when I saw that error I went back to correct it. I could have missed that easily.
What's great about it: Ability to jump to any section
What's not so great: Missed error in dependents credit
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great Help, gets better every year!

Even after paying estimated taxes, we owed the Fed over $2500; but your prompts to consider IRA contributions helped us save almost all that amount for our retirement! :) Thank you!
What's great about it: Simple to use, tabs to explain strange terms, online support
What's not so great: Still have to pay more than we thought... (not your fault, tho!)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Meh...

Just meh... if you don't do anything to out of the ordinary, you'll be fine. Own your own business, need to provide more info, need to better understand where to do something... you are basically on your own. Even maximizing your IRA contributions is cumbersome... click the maximize button, we'll return to in later... very underwhelming.
Bugs in downloading banking and income docs online - if you use special characters TTax will not accept them... try using the space character in your password... good luck.. .doesn't work
What's great about it: If you don't stray from the "normal" return, you'll be okay
What's not so great: No guidance, no additional information. Pointers to IRS docs is useless... need help interpreting the information
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

TT Makes It An Easy Process
on April 18, 2016

I don't enjoy doing my taxes but Turbo Tax does make it easy to complete. I am old enough to remember doing my first tax filing by hand and I can't imagine going back to that method. I have been using TT for over 10 years now and don't think I would bother switching to another application. I appreciate the info that gets ported over to the new version as well as the data that you can download from their other products. The only suggestion I have is I thought in years past there was a section at the end to help you plan ahead for the next year with different scenarios, such as moving, having a baby, etc and estimating what the impact would be on your tax situation. Maybe I need another product for that but I did like that feature.
What's great about it: Questions guide you easily through different areas
What's not so great: Would like to review upcoming year but don't see that option
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
