Best Turbo Tax version

I've been a Turbo Tax user since 2004, with the exception of the 2014 tax year. It made this year's taxes a little more tedious with manually entering information, but I was very appreciative at the convenience of the software and the auto-import option for newer W2s. The search for answers option was very useful and I used it on several occasions. I expected the ObamaCare Market Place section to be more complicated, but it was with great ease!
The payment section was much easier than past years, and compared to what I went through with the previous tax year with a competitor tax site.
My only real complaint was the deductions section for claiming job related and office expenses. It was long and drawn out with the menus. I felt like it should have been segregated into categories within the "Let me choose" section rather than having to go through it time and time again if changes needed to be made. Depreciation is always confusing. That is one section that should be easier to understand.
What's great about it: The Market Place and 1099 sections were remarkably easy. Took some of the stress load off.
What's not so great: Deductions for job expenses was a little convoluted.

Very Smooth Filing

I appreciate that computer tech should not be relied upon solely for keeping a copy of the finished product. But I am prompted to print & review the final package about three times. It would be nice if something indicated that there was a difference between the pre-filing and post-filing documents, that I should make copies of. Otherwise this is a fine product, with hints, tips, and easy access to official gov't references when needed.
What's great about it: Import of brokerage data is pretty good
What's not so great: The last review seems redundant

Finished in nick of time

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and it has calculated my taxes correctly each year. I have also been faced with filing extensions. When this situation has occurred, Turbo Tax has helped with this situation.
I have never had to use the Audit Defense, but with a home business I have made the purchase the last few years including this year, 2015 tax year.
What's great about it: Stepped me through what I needed and allowed me to enter items myself

Wouldn't let me print or efile

Pretty mad at TurboTax - program wouldn't let me print or efile my taxes. I'm using another service next year. Put in any expletives you want here and it wouldn't start to express my feelings toward Turbo Tax - after 10yrs of using TurboTax - this has turned me away.
What's great about it: Nothing

Better than outsourcing to a high priced CPA

I like this product and have been using it for years to get the nasty job of filing my taxes. I have paid people one or two years and they didn't do much to try and save me money - costs were per forms, or number of issues, etc. and TurboTax is great at the one price with the free federal and low price for the State (although creeping up in price....)
What's great about it: Quick easy to understand menus
What's not so great: Payment system was horrible this year for on-line payments

Love TurboTax!

We haven't used TurboTax in several years, relying instead on a professional. Decided to take the plunge and do it ourselves this year and what a great decision! Got lots more information about categorizing business expenses and was guided through all possible deductions for our situation so felt confident in preparing our own return--and saved hundreds of dollars!!

poor calculation of estimated state taxes

I filed with TT for my 2014 taxes last year and used it to calculate estimated taxes for fed and CO state. I earned only 87% of what I used in the calculation but paid the full amounts. I overpaid the feds quite a bit and underpaid the state by a bunch, enough to cause a penalty from the state.
It also screwed up worksheets for K-1. And it included unneeded Scchedule E. It thought I had rental income, when that was never selected. Even after going in and redoing to make sure I did not mark rental income, it kept the extra workisheet. Ugghhh!
Previous years have worked much better for me in TT.
