YEAH!! No Post Office!!! :o)

The online payment option via account withdrawal was great but I could not find a way to reconfirm that the payment instruction was received. I think that there was a screen stating payment will be made but I could not print it or return to it afterwards. My tax return was accepted but still no mention that the online payment instruction had been registered and was being processed. We need a way to see this. I am not talking about payment clearing the bank just confirming that the is proceeding along the pathway.

What's great about it: Really liked the online payment option - I think this is new.

I have a certified CPA that has been doing my taxes for over 27 years, my taxes are itemized with some work related deductions and mortgage interest and a child... pretty basic. Turbo Tax walked me through step by step. I will never go to my CPA again...
What's great about it: DETAILED STEP BY STEP PROCESS
What's not so great: TOOK A LITTLE LONGER THAN I THOUGHT - BUT I AM GOOD !!!

Turbo Tax

I've have used a Turbo Tax product for many years. My returns have been pretty involved and complicated, but I have always been satisfied with my results.
What's great about it: Reliable, easy to use
What's not so great: Haven't found any

Been using Turbotax for years. Gets easier every year, especially with the transfer of info. depreciation is super easy and automatic. Don't know why everyone isn't using it!!!

This review is really for the benefit of Turbo Tax. This is the first time I had problems and I have used it for years. Granted I was doing a prior year's return late (2013) so I was using a desktop version and didn't expect for current customer support to be able to answer old questions (I didn't call) but I was confused by several things. It didn't print Schedule B. Is that a new thing because my particular payers submit electronically or was it a glitch in the software? I attached the Schedule B worksheets to the return I mailed in after trying every which way to see if a Schedule B would show up. If not a glitch, it would have been helpful for the software to tell me at some point that you don't need to print that any longer.
Second I found the Georgia return confusing. It seemed as though at times the software could not read my prior year return. I was surprised it was asking me if I had carryovers when I thought it should know. It also didn't have enough helpful Explain This.
It also asked me to input into GA my high deductible health insurance premiums. As a self employed person who is able to deduct them from my income before AGI, I was pretty sure that I couldn't claim it a second time (so I didn't) (and of course I had already input the numbers) and I was surprised that it did not catch that (or if allowed twice to explain that).
I bought a new car for my business and initially input the sales price. I paid the sales tax separately and when I went to add that to the price, I couldn't get back to that number. I had to delete the car and input everything again. That was frustrating.
I don't know if the law has stayed the same or not but I thought as the business owner I could take full deduction on depreciation for the car for the year at least. It didn't let me. It prorated it by business miles vs total miles. I didn't see anyway around that in the software. If I could have taken the full year's depreciation I would have saved money.
What's great about it: TT is easier to do than filing out the forms my accountant used to require in order to my taxes

Minor Cons

I've used it for about 4 years now, and overall it's amazing I can do this; however little things like not having a navigation menu for quick links makes the flow longer.
I would suggest also improving the extra help navigation section. It's not very helpful.
What's great about it: The flow is pretty intuitive
What's not so great: Not very clear when it comes to fixing errors

don't buy unless you have the very up to date programs on your computer!!!!!!
What's great about it: easy to navigate
What's not so great: if you have trouble they dont know what to do just tell you tofile on paper
