It was a pain how I chose to file California, and it asked me questions about renters credit that I couldn't see. So I had to go to state tax website and download the renters qualification worksheet to in order to understand about line x that turbotax was asking me about. Also, super irritating that this text on this webpage is automatically super small.

What's great about it: TurboTax is very quick with simple instructions
What's not so great: Some minor cost for e-filing state taxes (can't TurboTax get rid of this?)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Interview not comprehensive enough

The interview is not comprehensive enough in the schedule C.
Last year I missed deducting my Hawaii GET tax. I would have hoped the software would have walked me through that.

super easy surprise refund!

pointed to an error in ins because didnt have childs ssn. Looked very confusing as how to fix it, when all i needed was ssn also only spouse had obama care but questions only refered to "YOU",(me) but never asked about spouses or other wi obama care. got a little clumsy, and once I filled out all forms, it was fine.
What's great about it: very easy to follow and fill out
What's not so great: Ins sec got a little awkward,

Worked Well

TurboTax is good but your team needs to keep working on linking all data fields. Also, the links to actual IRS regs and documents are difficult to find at times. The Community help needs better linking to TurboTax provided info.
What's great about it: Step by step together with forms makes it easier to get the picture.
What's not so great: Some data links after finished do not track well back to source. Makes review more time consuming.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Ease, assurance, accuracy

I have used Turbo Tax since 2010 and rely on its history keeping, accuracy, ease of use, available prompts, and place-keeping so I can work on it from time to time.
What's great about it: I rely on the tracking, accuracy and prompts of Turbo Tax
What's not so great: Haven't found one.

Over decade Turbotax user.

I've been using Turbotax for over a decade and have been delighted with its ease of navigation, step-by-step instructions, and enablers to learn as you go. I decided to move to Turbotax when tax preparation by third parties became cost-prohibitive but more fundamentally, I was ignorant of both the tax process and personal financial information contained therein. Significant gains of filing tax returns are realized in the second year as original information is input in the first. Completing tax returns is no longer a dreaded process and using Turbotax makes me smarter about my finances.
What's great about it: Ease of navigation, step-by-step instructions, self-paced, learning enablers.
